    it happens when unlocked.

when i flashed 1.5b3 initially i've had the nb multi @ 12x, and it worked flawlessly. Then after a couple of reboots the coldboot bug came, and since then I can't even touch the nb multi.

This occurs for me too... I thought I had everything running fine and then after I power down. Code FF and no POST. This is when I had my nb multi at x13. I hope bug gets fixed soon

Make sure when you set NB multi that HT link is not set to AUTO... otherwise HT link will rise together with NB multi.

ok, to be absolutely sure about this i tried it once again...

    1. set nb to 12x, ht to 10x, upped ht voltage to 1.25v -> POST
    2. pressed ctrl-alt-del -> FF
    3. powered down mobo, wait, power up -> FF

Toppc, pls give us some hope that new bios is coming!

    Hii Top...
some user reported hang at system if they change divider in 1.42b MSI 770 C45 series. I know it's bios issues incase my stick rock stable on 790FX with 1333Mhz 7-7-7-x 1.68v but in C45 even with 1.71v they hang if i run hyper-pi 4 thread max with 32m calculation or the system freeze itself after about 15 minutes standby. The problem will dissapear if i running my stick all auto divider and timing. Maybe i'll test later in normal acc mode.

finally this bios works 100% as advertised. currently my system is prime stable @ X4 / 3300 / 2400

i've rebooted/powered off the system 10+ times - the annoying coldboot bug is no more. I think this is the perfect bios we've been all waiting for

thank you very much for your efforts Toppc!

I have come across a very good deal of 'MSI DKA790GX Platinum' and want to buy it, but I wanted to ask all the learned and experienced members her about the prospects of unlocking the cores of X2 550 BE, Please help me with details about the modded bios if possible.
I will be grateful to all. Thanks

I would like to know the same thing , i currently have a X4 920 running at 3.6 and I plan to move to AM3 but will do it slowly so was gonna sell the 920 to a friend and grab a X2 550 to play with now that I see the success of unlocking the 2 other cores with the correct stepping as well as luck. Is there a bios or what is correct bios so us with the DKA790GX Platinum can play as well?

thanks for quick reply, is 1.8 a beta bios or direct from MSi, I have not followed bios much but now feel it is time to play around a bit and would not mind trying a X2 550 and see if I get lucky with a quad at 3.6 which will be same as my X2 920 basically

Second question is it work moving to the MSI AM3 board w 1333 or 1600 DDR3 over the DKA790GX Platinum I am now running w DDR2 1066 I am guessing that on eith platform I will hit a wall with a max overclock of the 550 at 3.9 just wondering how much faster it would be than the DDR2 platform running at 3.7 and would it be worth the little cost to move to. I would expect increased bandwidth but in day day usage would it be noticeable and would it be noticeable gaming w a pair of 3870's in Xfire at 1900x1200

I also want to Thank you for the reply, I wanted to ask whether the bios has to be flashed by the usb drive or can be flashed directly when in Windows. I am grateful for the responses.
Secondly is this bios the original from the MSI or is a modded one?

    Thanks again.
