SPI rocks 12,750s with only 3.2ghz, old kentsfield needed 4ghz for that.

and btw, seems coolaler just showed 19gb/s memory read with ddr3-1600 cl7.

Don't want to argue with your post, high volts on mem is good for me... just want to say I lost two of my four 939 A64's due to high ram voltage...

    So for me thats 50%.

Certainly this maybe didnt happen often because not many people clocked thier ram with low volts on cpu but it did happen. Luckily the cure was just driving insane vcore into the CPU.

Coolaler already showed early Conroe and Penryn benches, it's well known that he always get those "press kits" and does stuff with them before the NDA lift date. How comes that you say this? It's perfectly logical and understandable, but why now and not before?

Yes, it is going to be awesome, just give time to every body to get their own opinion and so on. It is going to be a nice firework, just don t start it when it is day light.

If you get little bits of information, piece per piece, you will not be as Wowed as if you get the all package in one shoot. This is what we try to do: A Technology party time!
You all have to agree that when I showed Conroe by surprise at IDF with my buddies, you all had some serious fun, debate and digging online, excitement was awesome, Give us a change to wow you guys again, play the game with us, hold your information to your NDAs.

    Thanks for understanding.

I understand the kinds of problems early release can cause. I will definitely be giving all those involved in this project a fair and equal chance before basing anything concrete on the technology. I know you guys are still working with things, and that's probably one of the reasons you don't want info out there until things are finalized.

I just take these things as a peek of what might be, not what is final.

I hope Intel doesn't take any action though. I don't think those screens hurt anything really. It does raise excitement and is good for advertising. It hasn't spoiled any surprises for me, because I know that there are still things with the Enthusiasts boards we don't know. There always is. There are so many really nice boards out there, and I hope you guys got to work with those comapnies like MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte, and the others I've probably left out.

I'm kinda like a peeping tom right now. I'm getting a good look, but am not taking anything yet.

Nonsense. A slow tease is much more exciting than revealing everything at once!

...and I'm not interested in anyone's package!

It will be an interesting exercise ... people who like to dink with settings have all sorts of fun with Phenom, Nehalem will approach that level I suspect.

    put's on mod hat:
    Gentlemen;
We had this discussion before but evidently some have forgotten what was said.
Dr.Who? does us ALL a great service by coming here and telling us what he can and should be thanked for doing so.
I removed two posts today. The first one I read made me so mad I wanted to smash the guy right in the face over his stupidity and lack of tact.
The man if nothing else demands respect due to his position.
I'm not saying you can't disagree with him but I am saying that if I ever see someone mouth off to him as I saw today that person is gone from here forever.
I sit here, just as you,and have my unanswered questions but I also see in Dr.Who's speech that he would love to be able to say more but he can't at this point. That has to be respected.
I also see these "armchair generals" who profess to know more than the man who works with and tests these every day.
What absolute arrogance on your part!
I'll say this again: Keep it respectfull and pleasant and if you can't do that then stay the hell out of this thread or you'll see a side of me that I rarely show.
    Thanks for reading!

Is Nehalem EX (Beckton) already done and working?

I remember having seen a wafer with these on it, but I can't find the picture anymore (it was in one of the threads with stuff from IDF).
