Both. It is rated at 7-7-7-21 1600MHz @ 1.9V, and that has been the best I have been able to do with the memory. I have gotten the memory stable at 1.80 V and 7-7-7-18, but that doesn't help much. (Incidentally, I turn the CPU down low, like to 6, to isolate the RAM while pushing the RAM.)
    Me ol' rig: Intel QX9650 (10x400MHz), ASUS P5E3 Premium/WiFi-AP@n, 2x2GB of G.Skill DDR3 1600MHz, Enermax Modumax 82+ 625W, Thermalright IFX-14 HS, 2 Scythe fans (SFF21F - 12cm SFDB) on HS, Rackmount case, XFX 8600GT, Gentoo 2008

Did you turn on the PC with the USB drive in it? Because when I turned it on without it, never worked.

I was on 0402. I returned the motherboard, I got 3 defective models with different issue and didn't want to keep wasting my time.

Coud someone tell me if he tried finding max fsb with multi 6 cos it seems I can't even boot with it whatever ratio is set .( bios 0402 )

my max fsb was 568 with x 6.5 and cpuz reported x6 ( C1E and all cpu settings disabled ) .

that X48 seems more painfull to clock than P35 regarding stability

This board can handle fine strap 333 x fsb 450 on quads. It kicks though when strap setting is 266. I don't know why.

As far as my settings are concerned... with a QX9650 and 4x1GB 1800Mhz 8-7-6-21 cellchock RAM I struggle to find stable values.

    I explain...

When all put in auto except ram volt (in my case stock value at 1.9V), it gives a stable system with FSB 1333 and underclocked cpu at 2.8Ghz (9650 stock speed is at 3.0Ghz).

BUT.. when even trying to use the automated o/c settings of the board (everything remains in auto except ram volt) in order to set DDR3 at its stock speed (1800Mhz) the mobo kicks the bucket and prime95 and memtest86 give errors...

Inspite all these, I am trying to get ram work at 1800Mhz 7-7-7-20-IT. Evidently, the key is the voltage settings...

Right now I use fsb 450 and strap 333 with 7 multiplier (core speed at 3.150Mhz) and

    CPU Voltage: 1.3620
    CPU GTL (0/2):0.63
    CPU GTL (1/3): 0.67
    CPU PLL: 1.56
    FSB Termination: 1.36
    DRAM Voltage: 1.98
    NorthBridge : 1.51
    NB GTL Reference: 0.61
    SouthBridge: 1.05
    Clock Over-Charging: 0.8

and the three final settings at Performance, Disabled, Disabled.

PLEASE, someone give me a hand towards stability.... THANX !!!!!!

Try switching NB GTL ref to 0.67. That helped me with stability.

    Hi guys. I have a Q9450 on a P5E3-Premium wifi/ap and i can't oc more than 3.2Ghz.

My rams are OCZ ReaperX 1333Mhz and they run memtest with no errors @ 1800Mhz.
The power supply is also good, corsair HX620.

The problem is when i set fsb's higher than 400 i get errors on prime very quickly.
I tried 450*6 just to test the max fsb and when i run prime i get 2 errors in 2 seconds. I also tried to reduce the ram frequency to ~1300 but it's the same

I increased a little bit vcore, nb, ppl, vtt to try to put it stable but with no success, so the problem seems to be on the board and i don't know why!

I'm running bios 401. If someone can tell me why i can't get more fsb i would appreciate :\

Welcome to this thread and to the forum for that matter
As you my already know, this board is not simply plug and play. It will take a bit of tweaking in order to work things up in a stable fashion. I see you are using OCZ memory. Check out Tony's info at OCZ forum http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=38357
I found this information interesting but haven't had the chance to put it to the grind as of yet. I'm not sure how CPU pll will figure in yet. Let us know what works for you.

That's more complex than i thought but why i see many ppl running the Q9450 @ 3.6 stable by just changing the fsb and vcore?

Some people have the RAM that is supported by this board passed 400FSB; Corsair Dominators and CellShock 1800 can do it.

I tried to play with vtt and GTL but with no success.. i can't put the system stable with more than 400fsb.

When i set 450*6 (CPU @ 2.7Ghz) and ram frequency to ~1350 i still get 2 errors in 2 secs on prime. If the rams work ok @ 400*8 @ 1600Mhz how can it be a non supported ram issue?

I was able to run my 4 sticks of OCZ DDR3-1800 at 1350Mhz with the 450FSB very stable. What settings are you applying?

I had 2GB of OCZ 1800 Platinum and i had to change it because i had lots of errors on memtest even @ 1333Mhz. Even the nb was stressed by these rams.. atm the temp is 10ēC lower.

About the settings i tried a little of everything. I can run @ 3.2GHz stable some vcore and all other voltages at default. If i set more than 400fsb i get errors on prime even if i set a lower ram frequency. The rams run memtest @ 1800Mhz with no errors.

At the moment i'm running prime "Stress CPU" and no errors yet but if i stress the ram i get errors quickly. I'm really confused and i don't know what to do... do i have another ram incompatibility problem?

I was about to tell you that MemTest lies with these RAMs. If you run them at 1800Mhz they pass with flying colors though [which you said yourself]. The RAM is not really supported [it seems] by any of the new X48 boards. I'm having the same issue with the BlackOps motherboard I have now; but the problem now is that any voltage passed 1.648v [default at 333FSB settings] will make the system hang. I have to tinker around and find out why that happens. I have to admit though, I get the sense that there might be light at the end of the tunnel I'm in now, a feeling I didn't get with the P5E3 Premium.

I also have the sense that i'm just missing some bios setting. The memtest ram problem was solved with a ram change and if it runs fine there it's just a question to play with bios settings. The board is good, i checked many reviews and it can do much higher fsb's. The problem is that i don't know what to do... that's why i'm asking some help to ppl with more experience.

OCZ RAM is not officially supported on this board passed 1600Mhz. I see that you mentioned 4GBs or RAM in your sig, is that 4x 1GB or 2x 2GB?

Then your case is just like mine was, I was super stable at 1600Mhz while running 4x 1GB [more sticks but same amount of RAM], but the moment I would go even 50Mhz higher it wouldn't even POST. If is any consolation, I was able to run my CPU at 450FSB with the RAM set to 1350Mhz [I believe that's a 5:8 ratio].
