nice you have the Ultra Kaze 2000 there, I find doesn't scale well on a fan controller, noise/air flow ratio worse than S FLEX-F/Zalman F3 :/

Thanks Looking forward to this one more than the others really...Part 1 was kinda good, but had too many obscure fans that didn't perform very well, then Part 2 was the San Ace discovery (really though, old school watercoolers swore by them for a longtime, then they almost disappeared from our reach) and a lot of Yate Loon studying with a dash of Zalman and S-Flex goodness....but with this one I get to keep the S-Flex, the Zalman and the San Ace and add in some new fans that are getting very popular: P12, Ultra Kaze, and Slip Streams.

I think one of the most interesting 'battles' will be the Ultra Kaze 3000 vs. Panaflo U1(A,BX,C). You can throw in the San Ace 109R1212H1011 in there too I guess, though they're basically unobtainable and twice the price. S-Flex G vs. Ultra Kaze 2000 vs. Yate Loon SH will also be fairly interesting, IMO. Then down the noise scale P12 vs. S-Flex E/F vs. Slip Stream M/H vs. YL SL. Then who knows if the 'new San Ace' or the Deltas or the Xinruilian or the Cooler Masters (or even the Turbine ) can shake things up

    Oh, you tease.....

Are you gonna create a new thread for round 3 or continue in this one?

Also, if you're still open to suggestions for fans, I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Scythe Kaze White fans (SY122512WH-VR)

It'll be in a new thread....the Kaze white seem to be very similar to the Slip Streams. And not available in the US. And unless there's a major release from one of the big players, the list is final.

Anyway, early numbers/impressions of some big hitters, all at 12V:

Ultra Kaze 3000 vs. San Ace H1011
Not even close. Basically the same CFM numbers but the Ultra Kaze is much louder and higher pitched.

S-Flex G vs. Slip Stream SH
Slip Stream SH pulls ~75CFM, S-Flex G at ~71.5CFM. But the Slip Stream is SIGNIFICANTLY louder. In fact, from a pure auditory standpoint, I'd almost rather run the 1900RPM S-Flex G over the 1600RPM Slip Stream H (~61CFM open air). Slip Streams are performing much better than I expected when pulling through a radiator though (from a %-loss point of view). I'm very surprised by the Slip Streams in many ways....I expected them to be quiet and extremely poor radiator performers. But they're loud and decent/good radiator performers.

Minebea 1600 vs. Slip Stream H
Minebea pulls ~63.5CFM, Slip Stream H pulls ~61CFM. Minebea is quieter. Identical radiator performance so far.

    ADDENDUM:
My radiator testing seems 'off' compared to the previous rounds. Every fan so far is pulling higher-than-expected and higher-than-previously-tested numbers through the radiator. No clue why.

If it wasnt impossible to find in europe I would have bought the san ace instead. Anyway, CFM are still top notch and I dont care bout noise

Yea I would have also gotten my hands on the San Ace as well. But apparently where I am at, I can only do a MO (mass order) of 60 fans which is equivalent to a box.
I can get a lot of fans, yateloons, sanyo denkis and what not but they all need to be purchased by boxes. -_-...

    Vapor, nice teaser

    San Ace

    For the Dutch:

    http://link.marktplaats.nl/170334185

You may be thinking: huh that's not a 1011! Wel it is sorta, the only thing different are is the plug, you need to swap some wires into other holes. When you do that you practically have a 1011.

I bought 4 of them from the guy and the deal went smoothly. Only one of them is now broke but that's because I accidentely short circuited while I was messing around with my rheous. But they're great fans!

What interest is there for 140mm fan testing? There will be no radiator data, however.

I would be greatly interested. I've always wanted to see if the difference between 120 and 140 mm is anything to take into consideration.

I'd love to see a test of the Aerocool turbine and/or white lightning 140's. (Tho they're 20mm-deep. But very pretty!)

was thinking of installing 140mms into the top of my case. wasn't sure how they would be tho. 140s seem like they would be nice for running low speed tho.

If you are going to be putting any fans into the top of the 690 (I recommend just blocking off those fan grills) then you should use 140mm - otherwise some of the exhaust air will come back in thru the holes around the fan(s) - it will also come back in thru the top ports access hole, IDK what could be done about that... It's because the top bezel of the 690 doesn't breathe very well - I recommend opening the plastic things that look like vents (but aren't) in the rear sides of the bezel for better breathing. Then there may not be quite such a back pressure. The 590 doesn't have that problem as it has no top bezel.
