Pedal, this miss conception that the GPU's need to be super cool to get greater overclocking is a myth. Unless you can dip into sub ambient cooling.

Air will achieve the highest rated overclock on GPUs unless you volt mod.

So using this logic, it makes no sense to keep your gpu's super cool as long as its quieter and better then air.

Anyhow Andy, as long as your gpu's are kept cooler then air, id say you shouldnt put too much effort in them. I dont think you vmod your cards.

NaeKuh, Andy said he was going to Vmod those cards, but idk. i would agree that a 120.3 would handle those fine, but if he is Vmoding i would be more careful than hasty.

LOL i missed that comment on the overvolt.

Andy your screwed. 4 videocards and your asking for it expecially vmoded. Andy drop another radiator, and split your cards up on individual loops.

An MCR220 should be enough for 1 card. Have two of them and it should hold you out unless those cards can push more wattage then a solo 8800Ultra.

One thing I've been thinking about with these 9800GX2 blocks. Are you going to be able to keep the plastic housing around it still intact or how are those connected on there? I'm sure you'll have to have the top portion off but I'm unfamiliar with how those are constructed. It could be super clean if that stays on and only a small opening in the top between the cards for the waterblock connections. Anyone have any insight on this? Maybe mcoffey could comment on how he thinks it would work since he's got the cards.

How would 2 9800GX2's put out the same heat as 4 8800Ultras? The GX2 uses a different core that is cooler, and both cards are clocked between a G92GT and G92GTS.

A more accurate one would be vs 4 8800GTS 512MB.

i was mearly using that as an estimate for a VOLTMODDED gx2. which every one seemed to miss in Mcoffeys post. not trying to be a troll, but he did put vmodded which =more heat.

Yeah, that's true... then 4xGTX would be more accurate then.

9800GTX's. The GX2's are a lot more square looking while the GTX's coolers are curvy and smooth.

It's kind of disappointing, I was hoping for more. At least it's copper with 1/4" connections, but I don't like how the blocks are connected and it looks like a lot more flow restriction. I think the Ek block looks way more massive and efficient. I think I'll go with Ek.

    nice Andy!
puts me in a place where I'd consider switching video card soloitions... Too bad with tri-sli you can't run a sound card

How bout some runs @ 1900x1200 very high settings?

So Andy, which do you think drives a 30" monitor better so far... 2 GX2s or the 3 GTXs?

Looking good. zbogorgon, could you post some temperature and your setup if you could? I'm curious if you have before air temps and after watercooling temps. I'm also curious to see the temperature difference between cores if there is any.
