i went into bios, made a few changes, ram timings voltages etc.
when i leave bios, why does it turn off, then start back up again?.i have never encountered that before?
fwiw, cpu temp in bios was reading 23c!!
look forward to this new bios
Does that to me too....i guess its normal for this board, very annoying when you just want to up the fsb a few mhz haha.....but as ace said the beta bios fixes this problem. Im still using bios 11 and it hasnt caused any problems for me so i dont think i really have a reason to switch yet? I am also interested in seeing the changelog for the beta.

Haha thats what i meant since i know its not an official there wouldnt be a "changelog"....but yes i would be very grateful if he stopped by to list what was worked on Im getting ready to flash the beta....just want to make sure of one thing first, do you need to set your cpu to default speeds before you flash? Ive never flashed an OCed board before, only a new one out of the box so i just wanted to double check....thanks!

Hey quick question, is the 16 bios temperature monitoring accurate. I have a B3 3220 on this board and I just switched from my stock MachIIgt to water (single stage stock couldnt hang really) and I am getting really high temps.

Could be the water setup but I am jsut wondering if the bios temp is accurate before I start rebuilding and such.

Unfortunately i still cant play with 4:5 at 450 fsb despite the fact that the memory can stably run at that frequency at different combo of divider/multi...

First one. Wich bios is best for benching under DICE? The last one maybe 16.03?
Is the stock paste on NB good or I must switch to AS5.. And is the vdroop with last bios less ?
    Now I have bios 12..
    Thanks for answer.

uguru temperature readout is not very accurate...you have to use coretemp 0.95.4 to see what the internal temps are for your processor...i have about 12-15C difference between uguru and coretemp

i found i had to be at a lower FSB, like 430 to run 4:5 successfully...try 430 FSB to see how that works and adjust your timings to see if that helps.

Right can someone help me out please. Mobo doesnt seem to be working anymore. 3 days ago, it was working perfectly, went to bed and turned off the pc. Next day, turn on the pc and i get a c1 error, tried clearing bios, still c1, have tried everything, even bought some cheap ass ram and still the same.

Sometimes it'll go from C1 to C3 to OD and thats it, been trying my best for 3 days now and wont go further than 0D.....0D isnt even mentioned in the book.

Can someone please help me out, I need my pc back up and running.

did you also pop the battery out when clearing the CMOS?

try switching out the VC or moving it to the 2nd PCIe slot or try a different VC.

remove (unhook) all sata cables and ide cables...take it down to just video, memory (one stick) and cpu.

I am going to be building my Abit ip35 Pro system here in a few days. I plan on reading this thread completely, but since it's well over a hundred pages long at this point and I need to build this system very soon I was hoping someone could answer a few basic questions please?

I will be installing WinXP SP2. I am hoping to find out what order to install drivers/etc. for the ip35 Pro? I am considering creating an automated WinXP SP2 install CD with NLite. This way I can include the necessary drivers during the install process.

I plan on using a RAID 1 setup on the Intel ICH9R controller. I want to include any updated drivers during the install if possible so I don't run into issues after installing the OS.

Also, what BIOS is recommended for maximum stability? I will not be overclocking right away (CPU=E6850)

If anyone can provide some info on what is required for drivers with WinXP to complete a successful installation on a RAID setup and/or point me to a consolidated step-by-step FAQ for this info I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks,
    -scaryogre

    Well my chip is here

Though it looks like Abit may have some work to do with the bios!

With the new uguru, temps maybe reading a little high (bottom of the heatsink is dead cold)

I'm all so stuck with a 6 X multplier, no matter what I set in the bios (yes C1E etc are turned off and power settings are set to high)

And both the new uguru and cpu-z wont play nice to together.

Ps I'm using bios 16beta01, I'm about to flash to beta03 to see if that helps.

    Hello Mr Beta 03

All multpliers up to 11 have been tested, so I'd say they all work now.

Would this board sill be considered a top choice to buy for its price/performance ratio at this point in time? Basically I want to use it as iinterm solution on a new build while I'm waiting for DDR3 prices to come down so I can pick up a higher performance board then. -- I'd be using it with a q6600 G0 and some Ballistix Tracers (2g @800) with water. Any opinions?
