    E6320 E6420 oc results

    havent seen many results here.every1 is too lazy to test them out?
    tried a 6420 around 15th, cant even push it over 2.8ghz on stock voltage,max tried 3.4ghz stable on commando with 1.65Vcore tested with ninja plus.

    another 6320 tried tonight 2.8ghz stock voltage ok,3.2ghz stable at 1.5V with stock cooler until met fsb wall on 650i motherboards.might put it on ds3p or commando to test it again

    I have an E6420 L647G476
    @1.35v, I was stable at 3,264
    @1.53, I am up to 3,648
    Might be able to go higher if I tweak my MB a little more, but I don't seem to get that much more speed when I add more voltage.

    seeing as how most boards wont hit 500 easy with a 4 meg cache, the 6420 seems like the best buy of the two, as 8 x 450 is pretty easy, and 450 isnt gonna be too hard for most boards.
    so basically your best chance at a good OC is the 6420, if your on a budget.

    Seems to me the E6600 @ $230 or so is a better buy than the E6420. If you want higher memory bandwith just drop the multiplier to 8 and run 450FSB. I see no reason to invest in the new cpu's until they start clocking better.

    I'm sure it's not board's problem.Commando runs 550+.There is a wall as i said before around 470,even with 6x multi..

    Yeap you're right.I'm on stock air without any mods on commando.Actually temp is high(69-70 with pcsuite and 76-77 with coretemp),so i'll have to play with some better cooling..
    I can run 520+fsb with this cpu that i tried.The previous 6320 crashed at 470fsb no matter of multi.This is an answer to everyone that says "there is no fsb wall".

    WTH, the first few I saw were looking good. Recently the OCs on the 6420s suck.

    I have one coming Thurs from Newegg - will report back then.

    Kinda reminds me of last August when we all saw the first results of Conroe's & thought we would be hitting 3.6-3.8ghz easily on air, only to discover that most of retail chips took insane voltages to reach 3.6ghz dual prime stable if they reached it all.
