    Current settings:

    Core 2 Duo 6400 @ 3.4 (425 x 8)
    G. Skill 6400PHU2 2GBHZ (1:1) 4-4-4-12
    Asus P5B-D w/bios 0804 (no mods)

    VCore: 1.425 (1.4 effective)
    FSB: 1.4
    NB: 1.45
    SB: 1.6
    ICH: Auto

Thanks in advance for any help. Also, this might be a dumb/simple question but does the bios allow me to lower the multiplier to 7?
for vdimm, you will need 2.2V+ for 450mhz, just test it along the way

i don't know if there is a difference when you put the ram in slot set 1 or 2.
As long as you run 1 stick in each slot of the same color, you'll be dual channel. There should be no functional difference between channels.

Worst case should be 1 stick in slot 1 and 1 in slot 4 (or 1 in slot 2 and 1 in slot 3) because it would take the most hardware overhead to read/write.

I just recently (Wednesday) got my P5B Deluxe, an E6600 L632A 002, and 2x1Gb of Ballistix 6400 4-4-4-12. I have overclocked my E6600 to 3.6ghz at 1.475V (in bios) 9x400 (ram at 2.3V) and ran orthos blend at priority 9 overnight. When I checked this morning it had failed at 7 hours 43 minutes (core 0 failed). To me this seems like maybe a memory error. My general policy is any failure after ~4hours is not usually the processor. Anyways, I tried to run windows memtest and it said it couldn't test all of my unallocated memory and refused to run... so what windows memory tester do you use to check for memory stability? I am using watercooling and max temps on core temp during the orthos run was 47C. Do you think my orthos failure was a memory issue? For the FSB at 400 will I need to raise my voltage for fsb term, nb, sb, etc? Thanks for the help!

    a few ideas....

1). Try 8x450fsb..... maybe a small bump in voltage again?? 1.4875v??

2). When you bring up the Orthos screen don't select Blend.... select Custom. Leave everything the same except change the "memory to use" to 1/2 of your system memory. Orthos blend will automatically take nearly all of your memory on blend. I have 2g of memory and on Blend, Orthos will "grab" 1750mb by default.

I personally don't think you need to run it on priority 9. Some will disagree on the priority setting.

Hi everyone, im new at this forum
I have a little problem with my pc. Specs:
    E6300
    8800 GTS
    Asus P5B-E Plus
    Corsair 2x1024-6400C4D

Now i have fsb at 320Mhz and everything works fine. I raised it to 430, but fps in 3D Mark dropped about 40 and some games didnt work well at all. Temperature was good, under 60 degrees, but still 3D Marks didnt work fine. Do you have any ideas what is wrong?

    I made some investigation:

    Frame=Frames in 3D Mark 06 first test
    Points=3D Mark 06 points
    CPU=3D Mark 06 CPU-points

    FSB 320
    Memory 800Mhz
    Frame 3150
    Points 8200
    CPU 1943
    SuperPi 1M 24.422s.

    FSB 350
    Memory 700Mhz
    Frame 3160
    Points 8389
    CPU 2105
    SuperPi 1M 22.750s.

    FSB 370
    Memory 740Mhz
    Frame 3160
    Points 8514
    Cpu 2248
    SuperPi 1M 21.453

    FSB 390
    Memory 780Mhz
    Frame 1050
    Points 3558
    CPU 2341
    SuperPi 1M 20.438

Interesting is that, that 3D Mark points are dropping quite hard, CPU points are still raising :O and SuperPi time is getting lower. So, is my CPU broken, motherboard bad or what? I think i have enough voltage (Memory 2.3, CPU 1.35)
    Any ideas?
PS. Sorry about bad English, i'm from Finland

OH MY GOD, THANKS MAN, THANKS FIFTY! It works!
    FSB 400
    Memory 2.1
    VCore 1.35
    vNB 1.45
    vSB 1.6
FPS ~60 at the beginning of the test, it was 20

Now if i start raising my FSB, what i should raise too? All those voltages?

You should only raise FSB termination vcore if raising FSB and run Prime95 to see if it's stable. If it isn't prime stable, slowly rise vcore, and do some testing again.
An you could also read all this thread, there is a lot of useful information.

Tested some FSB on my P5B Deluxe, bad thing is that D9 Fatbodies are really bad on this Mobo.. Anyway, i'm happy with the results!

    First some general bios screens:

Voltages for Vcore and Vddr are variating. For 1M tests i pushed Vfsb and Vsb to the maximum too.

    1,45V at Bios are 1,552V real, 1,55V are 1,672V and 1,65V are 1,867V.

One thing me and a other guy found out while messuring is, that 1,65V in bios is 1,766V on unmodded board! And if u set it to Auto it is 1,766V too!

So better watch out if u are still with stock heatpipe..

Well, all tests are made with 1066-strap - 400MHz at bios, rest with SetFSB.

    1,552V Vmch

470MHz gave me an instant Error at Prime with 1,552V, so i switched to the next step.

    1,672V

    Prime with 480MHz 1066-strap!!

Prime fails after this, so i tested the max. 1M with this Vmch and i just reached this, before the systems goes crazy:

Finally today i changed to 1,867V Vmch, bcs. it was a bit colder today..

    Just tested max. 1M:

I joined the p5b dlx wandbagon in the weekend and have couple of questions.

    hardware: p5b dlx / e6600 / team group 4-4-4-10 / seasonic m12-700 / stock cooling

First, tested my ram up to 1200mhz using 32m...

my aim is to see max fsb that this baby can do, please give me some recommendations to pass 495mhz barrier.

    i can boot into windows and run benches at 6x495;
when I set 6x500, I need to clear cmos (no post - nothing)...

    settings @ 6x500 (1:1 4-4-4-10)
vcore: 1.30 (i know this is sufficent cuz I have no problems at 8x375)
    vdimm: 2.30 (i know 1000mhz is stable using 4-4-4-10 @ 2.30 vdimm; also tried up to 2.45volts)
nb: 1.45 (also tried the max value > 1.65)
sb: 1.60 (also tried the max value > 1.80)

    NB & SB cooling > http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=129885

    what gives to pass 495mhz???

Board shouldnt have any problem at all to do 500 with the settings youve tried. Could be your cpu's max on air though.

Thank you! It was bad 12.715s, don't know why. Before i managed to do 12.688s with 9 x 450, but with 4-4-3-6 and 2GB of ram. It seems that only 1GB affects 1M too, not just the bigger calculations.. With 2GB my 32M at this settings should be < 13m..

Really need some of that new D9 stuff soon!

Just look at the thread with 1M at ~ 4000MHz for comparable results. Imho u have already posted in.

Installed new windows, the other one was for 3D, not SuperPi.

With 2GB it should be something like 12m 3X.XXXs.

excuse my dumb question but how do you know you are on the 1066 strap; by:

    1) looking and comparing results, or
    2) booting @ 400mhz and upping the fsb via clockgen, or
    3) something else?
