Much worse performance / clk than X1900XTX? Would the higher memory latency be enough to make such a difference?

    X1900XT prices went <300€, thanks to X1950. Mmmm... I think it's time to upgrade my 9-year old ATi 3D Rage II+DVD w/ 4MB SDRAM @ PCI.
(I think E6400 would be somewhat bottlenecked w/ an upgrade)

ok forget the game benchmark numbers for the time being, I got flamed pretty bad all around by readers, I gotta figure out what went wrong with my 7950GX2 runs.

Since the date i can publish the review is pushed back quite a bit so i'll redo it and redo the setup.

the rest is still pretty relevant though

does any1 have a actual msrp price of the x1950xtx
Don't quote me on it but I think its $450. I'm going to sell my x1900xtx try to get atleast 350 for it, i don't mind spending $50 for a 1950, im prety confident it will be less then $400 through the ati accommodation i get through my work. I found out shortly after I spent $575.00 on my xtx, that I could have gotten it for $329.00 through ati's accommodation.

    Wow...launch delay ?! Thats unexpected.

Hard to believe $399 Shamino...at least for retail...considering this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ice=&maxPrice= (Only 2 out of all are under $399.

Damn, later? Any reason why? That could seriously hurt sales as that makes the cards release that much closer to the R600 release, leaving the X1950 with a very short life span, about as long lived as the X1800 cards.

Sounds like they're trying to clear stock of the x1900xt's and xtx's first.

Either that, or they've fallen into the world that NVidia was in with the 7800GTX 512mb... The memory shortage world. It's a curse that almost always happens when a card uses bleeding edge new ram first, especially if the other company is stockpiling it already for their next card.

It's probably the same reason we haven't heard a release date beyond "september - october" for the G80. GDDR4 is still rather new.

Perhaps it can as well? Who is to say what acronym actually means what? Who comes up with this stuff and claims what it will mean?

O i know the stuff he comes out with, but he's normally pretty accurate with his pricing close to launch, as lying to customers on the forum, getting their hopes up, would certainly be bad for his business.

But i rofl'd @ when he said that OcUK were getting 90% of the UK allocation of 1950XTX's, now that is a load of

If this new card truly releases at $399 USD, and there are cards in hand for sale, this is going to be an awesome time to be in the market for a new card.

First, the AMD vs. Intel price war, and now this...I don't know if my wallet can keep up.

    AMD 3800 X2
    Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
2x512 OCZ PC 3500 Performance Series

Got any sort of confirmation on the date yet?

Luckily I read your posts here like 5 minutes before my rig was getting shipped from my retailer, so I quickly called and cancelled my X1900XTX. Now the only question is how long I'm gonna have to wait for the 1950? It's gonna be quite sad having $3000 worth of hardware standing without a graphics card
