1. Those are 5/8" barbs.
2. Larger 'L' slows water down for a moment so that it releases bubbles, and is VERY smooth 'sweep' inside, so minimal flow issues.
3. looked like good choice @ time (still does ) Function over form

SaFrOuT you could try mounting your HD in the floppy bay... it hangs out the back a little but is much more secure & will run cooler.

All the mods incorp passive or active flow under the covers! i recently did an aircooled server with cover as well.. this PC with 6 x 250+gig hdds would die without smart cooling.
