    Conroe E6400

Helo every one is talking about Conroes an the awoseme record showed in this forum with a 6700@4.5Ghz, but what about cheaper processor like the 6400(2.16 ghz and 230bucks) or 6300 (1.8ghz 180bucks) ...how much would it overlock? does any one tried it?

    Thx

Sweet... I was expecting a higher price... I may bet one of those just to play with and a more expensive chip when Kentsfield comes out.. Because for me 3.0Ghz on Air with Core 2 would be enough...

I should have an E6400 arriving in a few days. Will be running on the watercooling shown in sig. Whole PC needs a tidy up and reformat first though, not to mention exams that need to be finished!

Mine has a 7x multi, but when the cpu is idle a feature named EIST, brings the multi down to 6x.

XS for sale section, you need 100 posts to access it though. The seller tells me it did 3.25GHz at 1.55 volts on aircooling (tuniq tower 120) in an Intel 975x Bad Axe mobo. I dont think I'll be able to go much higher on watercooling. because thats 464MHz FSB already, and I doubt the Bad Axe can go much higher.
