    Worst AIUHB 2100+ overclock?

I got my AIUHB 0250XPEW 2100+ today and quickly replaced my JIUGB 0250 1700+.

I'm using Epox 8RDA+, VDD moded, NB, SB, MOSFET, VReg heatsinks. Thermalright AX-7 and 3500rpm 80mm fan to cool the CPU.

    My 1700+ would do 2GHz stable(In Prime 95) at 1.7v, the AIUHB 2100+ doesn't.

    My 1700+ would do 2.17GHz stable at 1.9v, the AIUHB 2100+ doesn't.

Have I got the worst AIUHB 2100+?????

My temperatures aren't a problem, it just seems the chip is crap. It won't even POST at default voltage and 2.2GHz

    Anyone got ANY ideas?

Do I need to burn this chip in or something?

Or have I just got the worst 2100+ AIUHB?

I think not somehow! My 1700+ JIUGB does 2.15GHz at 1.85v!

I'll give it a week, if it's no better I will sell it and get a JUIHB 1700+, at least I wont feel so bad if it doesn't clock so high as it will cost less

Did you have a different BIOS or different cooling?

Try an older BIOS for the EPoX.

Well you have now, my one

Same cooling, same everything, simply swapped chips.

Shoot, my 1700 JIUHB does 2ghz at stock volts. this is not even burned in too. Just put it in last night. burning now, so we will see what happens.

I agree and say sell it, and get another m8.

Yeah that 2100 is just crap mate, I'd sell it and get another one. Mine does ~2300 MHz at 1.85 V on just the stock cooler , it's a week 2 AIUHB VPJW.

Mine wont post at anything more than 1.9v which ever way you look at it. Also my 8RDA is a real POS, running 1.9vdd i still cant make it much past 180fsb.

My chip (from the same place) does 2.5ghz @ 1.7v easy enough on tec cooling.

What sort of multi's/fsb's you trying? Anything over 14 is impossible, at the minute im inherently stuck at 2.5ghz unfortunately.

My AIUHB 0248 MPMW will do only 2GHz at deault voltage, but not even 1.85V will get it to 2083MHz.

One thing i noticed, which could be completely dumb luck, is when i would put the voltage up to 1.85 or so..and put up the FSB, it wouldnt boot or if it does not very stable at all. So i just tried lowering the voltage some..and it just took off at the lower voltage, very very strange. My friend ordered a 1800 TbredB from newegg.com, and had same problem, so i told him the lower the voltage a lil, and sure enough it took off for him to, very very strange and like i said, prolly just dumb luck
im in the market for some new ram, is GeIL any good? im currently borrown a buddies crappy pc2700 OCZ or something and it gets unstable about 184 FSB or so, i was thinkin bout either samsung, or GeIL..or i might just shell out the lil extra for the corsair, im gettin pc3200, any ideas?

I have an 0303 2100+ that can't even get to 2.1Ghz. Its a real POS. But then again, I have another that does 2.1Ghz at stock volts.

I've got a Week 48 AIUHB 2100+ XP, and it does fairly well, but nothing extraordinary like some have seen. It will get up to about 2.4ish on lower FSB's.. However I keep it at 191FSBx11@2101Mhz for Rock solid stability and speed. The higher clock speeds are nice to look at, but the benchmarks tell you the truth, and this higher FSB beats 200 more MHZ at a lower FSB.

As for lowering the voltage, and the chip taking off. The voltage effects the Core temperature dramatically, and I assume by lowering it you allowed the CPU to operate at a cooler temperature, thus overclocking easier!

Hope your chip gets better with age hehe. What are your temps? They could be holding you back, as well as RAM.

My week 48 AIUHB does 2680mhz with 2.1 volts on an SLK 800 and TT Smart fan...

Id say sell it and try again also.

I can also comment on that these cpu's are really hit or miss, for example in the last 3 days I have tested 3 AIUHB 2100 xp cpu.

The first one was 03-01 and did fairly well at 2075mhz at default voltage, I was gonna keep this one then came across 2 more 2100's dated 0302, tested these and the first one hit 2175mhz rock solid stable (prime stable) at default voltage while the other needed 1.75 volts just to hit 2.1 ghz, and these were from the same batch / week, so really the secret lies in being able to test multiple cpu's and selecting the right one

I'm lucky enough to be able to bench test almost any hardware I buy, so for ordering online or just buying from a small reseller, it's really luck that will hit you a decent AMD cpu.
