    Beta Version of MBM5...

Ok, this is uber-beta... but I thought I would share with other people.

    Here's the file: http://www.maximumoc.com/files/Mbm5.exe

Please do keep in mind, very beta, it may not even work for you. I will try it as soon as I reload my OS.

    This is the email:

    Code:
    Hello all (again on BCC)

1st of all thank you for the scanner test results I have gotten yesterday
and today. They all where perfect but they also all showed a big speed
diffrence in the smbus when there are a lot of devices. This would seem to
indicate that running mbm at 1 second interval will not be the smartest
thing to do, although time will tell I am sure.

Included is MBM 5.2.2.0 and I would like to ask you all to not yet send it
around or post it, there have been a lot of changes in this version (see the
readme file) but for all of you I suspect only the NForce2 mathers :)

You can simply install this MBM over your current version and all your
settings will be saved, I also asume you all know how to set MBM up.

A thank you of course goes to Nvida for their help on this and to Dickie
Tsang who has been testing all my builds before they went out to you all.

Please let me know how MBM works for you and if you do then please include
an MBM system info together with your board type.

As soon as I have enough positive replies I will make this a public version.

    thank you all for testing

    Regards, Alex

Heh, well it works! I can use either the cpu diode or the cpu thermal probe! Voltages all work good. I also have 2 other temps... 25C and 27C... not sure what they are. One would be system temp, but the other? Not sure.

After this version is tested, and emails are sent that it's working well, then it will be released... in proably 2-3days. So I don't think it's that bad if a few people here test it.

EDIT: Also JBELL, anyone who emailed this guy can get on his mailing list to test it out.

Works for me. You can only run it, or the the thermal probe, not both though.

Which setting? It's definately not Asus3 or 4, or the CUSL2, Alex already said the CUSL2 is a 'compensated' sensor but not on die. He thinks on die is sensor 4 but I get 2C above ambient with 4. I wish...

Compensated? wtgoat does that mean. I thought it was the diode. Ok well I'm using the "compensated" setting then of CUSL2. Right now I'm getting 29C on sensor 1, 127C on sensor3, and 25C on sensor 4. Oh, and 51C on CUSL2.

Here is what Alex said here: http://www.livewiredev.com/bbs/showt...?threadid=3061

"well let me be more specific in what I say:

Asus 1 = the temp of the sensor chip and thus the case temp in most cases

Asus 2 = the 1st external temp sensor of that Asus sensor chip, almost on all Asus boards this is the CPU (socket for AMD and Intel but in some cases the diode for Intels)

Asus 2 CULS 2 = Asus 2 + a compensation calculation, so it's from the SAME sensor just added a comensation Asus used to add on the CULS2 boards

Asus 3 = the 2nd external temp sensor of that Asus sensor chip

Asus 4 = the 3rd external temp sensor and seems to be the AMD Diode temp on AMD boards and appear to be totallly nothing on Intel board

however this again all depends on the board, I am pretty sure there are Intel boards where Asus 4 is great......

as for the comment that Asus 2 CULS2 is the diode, that is truly wrong. it's Asus 2 + compensation

please understand that there are no datasheets on these Asus sensor chips so it's all using commen sense and info I get from users"

    MBM

O got some weird message about not being able to detet the smbus and then a bunch of bells. It shut the program down and said I could click this button to try to fix it. Tha t if it didn't work i could always edit the ini.

I have no idea what happened but now I get no sensors in the drop down lists.

Just an update from the ABIT NF7-S front:

Works perfect providing Vcore, Vio, Vmem, accurate CPU and system temps along with all the other standard voltages. Kudo's to the guys at MBM for addressing this new board and getting it right the first time

    Randi: Good to hear!

BrainPimp: Hmm not sure as to why it wouldn't work for ya. Try uninstalling any previous version of MBM5 if you have one in. And then reinstall it. It may be detecting your old settings if you overwrote your previous install w/ this new version... just a geuss.

this beta does not effect the 8rda+ correct? I have been reading all my temps and voltages with the regular mbm5. Is this one more accurate? I know my old Asus a7n8x couldn't report to mbm5 so i think the epox doesn't need this version.
