This 1002 flashing fails as bad as C and E on my G BIOS mobo. The G flashing gets only 1 write block fail, C, E and 1002 gets 90+ % write fails. I have to RMA this board.

Just flashed to it from 1001.C.

No problems encountered (yet) like with 1001.G.

    OPP, Randi :

could you pleasr check this mobo out? so far the only issue with this mobo was 211fsb limit, v-mods for both vcore and memory are piece of cake and i can tell you it's very fast. mine's dead so can't do anything...

If someone would send us one for review I'd be obliged. My finances can't pull off a purchase at the moment, tho I got a bunch of stuff for sale that could help out finances

What this board really needs is the chipset volt-mod!

I just bought an a7n8x a few hours ago (after toasting an epox 8k5a2+ yesterday) and I just flashed to the 1002 bios.

I can select up to 250mhz and my 2400+ is unlocked now. I previously connected the last L3 on this chip but it was not unlocked with the original bios on the board. Now it's unlocked. But I just bought the board and it won't boot on any of my hdd's so I think I need to reload the OS before I can start benching.

I have seen a Voltage mod for A7N8X, very nicely explained, somewhere on the web. It included which pins to measure Voltage on too.

and can you use low AND high multis with this Bios , and are you still using the wire ?

I'm posting at 233mhz with the board now using a stick of twinmos pc3200 ddr and stock cooling on the northbridge

I think my board came with 1001.E but I didn't really pay attention to it much.

The last L3 bridge on this chip is still connected - the next time I take the hsf off (or when I put it back on my prommy) I'll wipe the conductive grease off the chip and see if it's still unlocked.

I can use 9.5x - 13x. The next lowest mult that works is 7.5x, if you set 8x you get 16x, 9x gives you 17x, etc...

So far I'd say yes. I did sisoft at 190 fsb with a 7.5 and 11 multi and it(7.5) was only bout ~40mb slower. Still a decrease but wayyy better then what I seen with my NF7.

On another note, I can not do over 190 fsb. No matter what. I've used 7.5, 9.5, 10, 10.5 and 11x multi's and still a no go. Upped all the voltages to max and still no dice. Notta clue whats up. NB isnt hot, matter of fact nothing is really too hot. It'll boot up but as soon as I start 3Dmark it freezes.

    Its gonna be along night.

Yes my board has Nichicon caps

I managed to get an OS loaded on it now (W2k Pro) and I've been doing some benchmarks... I got 3400MB in Sandra2003 at 235 X 9.5, it locked up a little while after that. I'm at 225 X 9.5 right now. I think I'm limited by the ram but I'm sure I could bump up the fsb a few more points. Using a GF3 Ti500 (not overclocked), default bios settings basically with relaxed memory timings, I got 10312 3dMarks that's the best score I ever got with that card and it's not even overclocked.

I'll try the corsair xms3500 tomorrow and see how high I can clock it

No it doesn't. The only change I noticed in the bios was that I could turn up the fsb higher.
