    2100 palmino

    Hi all,

I have a 2100+ palmino and read a few links on how to unlock the multiplier.

The one I tried said to connect the L1 bridges then use a wire and connect 2 pins on the bottom of thee cpu, well when I do this it put my cpu clock speed to 667mhz.

I have the asus nforce2 deluxe mobo and I can change the multiplier from 6-14 but when it boots I get the error cpu overclock detected and I cant boot to windows till I set the multiplier to auto from manual in the bios.

    Anyone here have a solution?

    thx

    doolil,

    Welcome to Xtreme

When you unlock the 2100+'s you'll need to set the multiplier manually, the BIOS won't detect it right automatically. Hope I understood your question

    thx

ok I know that I have to set it to manual in the bios, my problem is that when I set it to manual I get an error when it reboots saying system failed due to cpu over-clocking and it wont boot to windows it will only let me back into the bios.

I'm also wondering if I unlocked it right. I connected all L1 bridges then looped a wire around 2 pins on the bottom of the cpu. I wasnt sure if this was just for tbred or for palmino as well.

    Welcome to Xtreme!!

Here's how I did the last one we had, and it worked perfectly on my 8k3a-333 and on a kx7-333.
freed all multipliers from 5 to 12.5

woah that came out big LOL
The L5 connection in this pic takes the place of the wire gimmick you are using now to achieve the same result.

And also 667 (5x133) is the correct initial boot for an ulocked 2100.....so that seems to be correctly unlocked.
Your Problem may be coming from elsewhere. Maybe make sure your wire is on the correct pins
and not touching anything else its not supposed to be.

    peace

cool thx, so mine is unlocked its just a matter of finding out the other problem.

I've also read that you have to cut out some bridges to achieve an unlocked cpu, anyone else heard this?

Yes I have seen this, but I think that is to pick a set multiplier, not unlock them all.
Regardless this should not be needed to achieve your goal as I understand it.

Also, I have the asus nforce2 deluxe motherboard, is there a setting in the bios to not allow overclocking? It lets me change the fsb but when I change the multiplier I get that error system failed due to cpu overclocking.

Ok, I can change the multiplier to 6.5 (lowest it will go), it will boot up with the fsb at 133 and boot up, but if I change it my computer wont reboot, it will hang on a black screen and my monitor wont turn green it will stay on standby flashing. I have to turn it off and then on in order to get it to turn on again.

It will also boot at 6.5 with the fsb at 166.

Not exactly sure what settings are the best. Anyone using an nforce2 mobo and a 2100+ with ddr400?

Sounds like a problem with the motherboard. Search the forums on that board & see if you can find any1 else w/ a similar problem or perhaps a solution
