Fuzzy picture of chip and pins:

Pin 1 is the Fb pin and Pin 4 is ground. You can use a different ground instead of the chip ground but you need to connect one side of the resistor to pin 1.

    Hi Jeff,

I have dropped you a PM, being too ashamed to ask some very dumb questions in public

    Regards

ok i have like very little experience with electronics, the mod itself looks easy but im confused as hell as to what parts i actually need.
do i use a variable resistor or a potentiometer, i thought they basically the same thing but im not really sure.

i would like to order everything i need from radio shack, so far i know i need (i think )
    http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=271%2D342

and some smd micrograbbers as im not keen on soldering. (a link to the grabbers i need? cant find any on radio shack)
the mod looks pretty simple but as i said im new to volt modding + electronics so im thick as **** when it comes to things like this so id rather be clear about what i need and what i need to do with it before i start melting things
    thanks.

A variable resistor IS a potentiometer.
You can probably get all the necessary items at radio shack. You can get smd grabbers at frys i guess.

ok cool, thats what i thought just i saw half the people say they used a variable resistor and half saying stuff about potentiometer and it all just kidna confused me really :p
so basically i need 2 smd grabbers, and a variable resistor,
i turn the resistor and test it with a multimeter until it gives the correct resistance....say 680 ohm then i attact one end to pin 1 and the other to pin 4 ?
