    Talking xp1800+ tbred aiuga

i got me today a tbred xp1800+ with aiuga 0242 xpfw stepping

this seems to be an excellent chip

with slk 800 aircooling i get the following first test results:

    1833mhz with 1,5 volt
    1927mhz with 1,6 volt

i will try later how high i can get this chip, but this chip is alot better than my other xp1800+ tbred with airga stepping(1750mhz with 1,5 volt and 1910mhz with 1,675 volt.... 2000mhz never )

Excellent o/c! Feed your tbred some more voltage. 1.7 V is nothing!

How much voltage is too much for these TBreds? I´m currently running my 1700+ at 2GHz (143*14) with 2.3V (on a K7S5A). It´s prime95 stable at this but upping the FSB to 147 will cause it to lock up when starting windows. Will it take any more or am I pushing it?

To hard-set the Tbred multipliers, go to http://www.ocinside.de/html/workshop...painting.html.

For O/C BIOS for the K7S5A, try http://buckeyefan.digitalrice.com/k7s5a_bios/index.html for a bootable CD.

The ECS forums at ocworkbench have some guides on solder mods that allow you to set the multiplier via dip-switch but the BIOS have never supported an unlocked CPU.

Increasing Voltage to chips always shortens the life expectancy for the chip. Overclocking 0.13 um CPUs to 2.3 V will severly limit the life length of that CPU. Don't be surprised if it dies within a year, if not sooner. Take it as a warning, overclocking is done at your own risk.
