    Ocz El-ddr...

anyone have any experience with the OCZ EL-DDR PC3500?

ocprices.com were doing a review on a roundup of ddr, and it was able to break 500mhz cas2 on fastest timings using 2.85V

im thinking about getting a pair of them and stuffing it into an epox 8rda+

I ordered a stick and should have it by tomorrow or friday.
I'll post some results as soon as I have it. Will be nice to compare it with my Corsair 3500 stick.

To say the true, I don't belive this review..look at the timings, threre is jo chance that someone will hit such high speed 2\ those timings..especially beacuse all the IT7\IT7-2 (not IT7-2 v.2) users so far can't run their mem with aggresive timings@high speed.

Guys.....I just DON'T believe that it can do DDR500 with Cas 2-2-2.....It's IMPOSIBLE.....I think S-Sandra 2003 DID it again!!!!.....TOO Many "bags" this prog.....Anyways....for those who are going to buy it....HAVE LUCK...!!!

Here's the screnie of the OCZ stuff.....with Cas 2-2-2.....

....and here is mine at the same frequency with Cas 2-2-3....If I could run it at Cas 2-2-2 , I would have had OVER 3900Mb/s Memory bandwidth.....This is a 512Mb Corsair XMS3200 C2 one....

Maybe I'll pick some up today and check it. I need something that can hit close to 500 on some nice timings. I know for one thing. Geil can't do it

Why are you all so interested in the timings, over 220fsb the timings make little difference (on my amd at least), maybe a few mb/s on unbuffered scores but in the noise for standard test. And sandras crap we the overclocking community should find a better memory only benchmark.

'Nice' timings really dont ยงยงยงยง at fast ram speeds. Maybe they help your 3dmark scores out some. Please tell you use your computer for something more than 3dmark2001 right?

Running at the slowest ram timings is fine on a p4 unless you are running 1:1, and maybe 4:5, high fsb's + 3:4 = YOU DON'T NEED CAS 2-2-2-5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of dropping 200 bucks on some ram, why not drop 200 bucks on granite bay... that will do you more good.

I think it took much voltage and most people wont be able to hit it

, but Opainter hit higher I beleive at 2-2-7-3

Well maybe not for some things it doesn't , but my 8RDA+ mem scores drop a good bit when I relax them, Sandra FWIW.

BTW Those are still some sweet scores in Sandra, most I could get was 3641/3426 . and thats pretty good for an AMD system. Of course it wasn't heavy benchworthy at that speed.

If I had my SWEET ASUS P4B533-E Mobo, this ram could do 257MHz(514MHz DDR) or even 258MHz(516MHz DDR),but I have stucked with this ABIT IT7-Max2 think for the time been and that's it.....Perhaps later on....

Yes I understand the concern for fast memory timings on an AMD system, but we are talking p4 here.. Synch the ram with the fsb, and yes ram timings make a big difference, run your ram at balls to the wall speed, then no. (3:4 ratio with a high fsb)
