Ive just bought some OCZ 3500 Platinum Limited Edition BH5 memory sticks and seem to be having a little difficulty using them. I keep getting random crashes back to my desktop whilst playing games or random PC reboots?

I know BH5 love a lot of voltage and can give them that no probs.

I wanna run them 24/7 @ 230fsb so I thought that I probably dont need to give them too much vDimm.

Is too much voltage @ say 230 fsb gonna make them play up or can too much never hurt?

What settings should I use? OCZ say use 2-2-3-6 @ 215 fsb @ 2.8v. So what would you suggest I use at 230fsb for stability?

Try! You can run 3.6 V according to the winbond specsheet. Even more with active cooling.
Give it juice until it's stable

are you using 2.8v? thats prob. way not enough for 230mhz

230FSB schould be easy with BH5's !
But notice, BH5 getting real good with high Voltages, I think the 230Mhz schould be easy to reach, you have to test with wich Volatge

My BH5's are running @ 250Mhz

What sort of voltages are you guys running at?

I just dropped the timings to 2.5-4-4-7 at 3.0v and it still rebooted after 15 mins or so!

With my old OCZ Gold 4000 I could run all the way upto 265fsb @2.85v without any problems. Im starting to with that I still had them !!

I dont suppose using the DDR booster has any problems at all? I seem to be able to tweak the vDimm and have tried from 3.0-3.6 whilst running SuperPi. All I have found is that the more vDimm the quicker SuperPi gets errors.

I get 'None Rounding errors' or 'Squares not in sq.'

Anyone got any advice?

If you pump anywhere above 3v, I'd suggest some active cooling for better performance

BH5 Ram don't need any extra cooling !
Only if you give around 3.4V

At 3V, or 3.2V (or somethin' like this) you don't need any extra cooling !

My BH-5 still gets a little hot with 3.3vdimm, putting a fan over them can't hurt

yeah, i dont think they need it, but its not bad to have some airflow over them.

yeah, make sure the memory is fine using memtest86. run it for a few hours at stock speeds wth stock volts. if it passes then keep the same speed but increase volts to see if thats the problem.

if you get errors even at stock speed with stock volts remove the ddr booster and try it again. maybe your booster is defective or wasnt seated well in the ram slot.

if you still get error at stock speed and stock volts then the memory is probably funky and whoever sold it to you might have damaged it with 4v or some funny stuff like that

I don't know much about the p4c800e but i know this IC7max-3 needs a vtt mod for any ram voltage over 2.8v.
If that board's DDR VTT doesn't track DDR voltage beyond 2.85v you will need to do the vtt mod to get your full milage with ram voltage.
As i said though, i'm not sure whether or not that board tracks over 2.85v.

my BH-5 (TM WB) 512mb did 235fsb 2-2-2-5 2,9volt with my tm wb ch-5 256 in dualchannel, it did this, not anymore
