2400+ in 'da house...prelim. results here

Just got my 2400+ today. This is the first setting I have tried as of yet, I just got this cpu this afternoon. THis is the first setting I have tried (166 x 15)= 2503Mhz

I'm cooling it with a Vapochill. The evaporator temp. is at -8C, cpu @ 1.9v. My 2000+ @ 2.0Ghz, 1.96v was -4c. This chip with out a doubt runs cooler.

I'm running it on a Abit KX7333-R mobo. I don't know the revision, the sticker is on the back of the board and I don't feel like removing the tray. But I flashed it with the newest B6 BIOS.

I assume the multipliers are unlocked for multiples greater than 12.5, but there is only a multiplier option for ">13" in the bios. I cannot choose 13, 14, 14.5, etc. With the ">13" setting, the multiplier reverts to the chips default multiplier of 15. Does anyone know how I can specify the EXACT multiplier? I'm guessing (like everyone else) that connecting the 5th L3 bridge will unlock multipliers 12.5 and below. I'll try that later. I want to see how far I can get on the 15 multiplier first.

Oppainter has a KD7, which is apparently able to manipulate multipliers above 13. The KX7333 apparently is not able to.

I should be able to attain in the neighborhood of 200Mhz FSB, as I am running 1 512Mb module of Corsair XMS3200CL2.

Let me get back to expirimenting here :-) Any comments and/or advice is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the cross-posting, but this is breaking news ;-)

    2.5+Ghz amd power looks promessing.

Are you able to bench at that speed? How high can you get it @1.8V? I would never run a Tbred at 1.96v, even not for benching purposes only.

Yeah, 100% stable at this speed. No crashes yet (except when I tried 2.6Ghz).

Here are a couple more benches. I'm holding off on the memory bandwidth benches, Q3A, and UT2003 benches, as this is not the FSB I want to be at. I'm going to have to unlock this chip to go higher on the FSB. I already tried 2.6Ghz without success. I don't want to go any higher on the vcore for the time being.

I could score a lot more on 3dMark with a higher FSB. This is only at 166Mhz and the Radeon9700 Pro is at STOCK core/mem settings!

They are. The default voltage is only 1.65v The 2400+ on up are the "B revision" T-Breds. THe "A revision" sucks. I had a TB "A" 2200+, which didn't OC worth a öööö, even @ 2.1v

I have the same rev. 2400 and it is unlocked, as long as your MB supports it.

Yep, the Abit KX7333 doesn't. Per Oppainter, the Abit KD7 does :-)

The 2400 likes high voltage. 1.9v kicked it up a little and I think that with proper cooling and 3v, then you could see some higher mhz from this cpu. I have to check temps with this air cooling, but that seems to be the key.

XGman, what speed are you up to? I'm leary on going much above 1.93v on the vcore. My Vapo isn't nearly as good as a Promie. I feel I can get to 2600Mhz easily @ 2.0v.

I'll be busy tonight modding this Lian-Li to accomodate the Vapochill:

The Vapochill case is one of the öööötiest, most poorly designed cases I've ever seen. This Lian-Li is a monster! Light, too. It only weighs about 10lbs.
