[[ CHARLIE ]] "Project Prescott ES"

    All,
I received my Prescott 3.0E ES today.
    Here's the goals:

    1) Determine MAX AIR OC on a 3.0E.

    2) Using low multi's, determine MAX FSB on Prescott 3.0E

    3) Using Dry Ice, go for MAX OC with SuperPi/PiFast results.

    4) Modify IC7 using HIPRO5's guide.

    5) Using 9800XT under Dry Ice, attempt to make 1st Page ORB, maybe taking out my own FX-51 score @ 28.7K

    6) Lastly using LN2 to probe MAX OC, shooting for 15 x 333, aka 5G.

    Here's the kit I have:

    IC7
2 x 256mB GEIL PC3700 Ultra Plat, good up to about 225 2-2-2, should be OK for 5:4 and 3:2 work.
    TTGI520W
    9800XT, Xabre200, R9700 Pro
    Swiftech MCX478. Delta 80mm x 38mm

As always, I'd like tips and suggestions from my teamie's here
btw, should I obscure serial #'s to protect source??

looks cool charlie. Keep us update.

And will you try w/, w/o IHS? Coze it can be a bad contact w/ the chip/IHS that makes high temps. But like everybody thinks, its probably the wattage. But why not try

The caps underneath looks different than other prescotts i've seen, must be new stepping. Plus, it's an ES.

That chip looks like it's barely been touched, probably a good job, it means you get a chance to break her in so to speak.

charlie, if you still have the pics from your sig, PM them to me, I think a little reworking of that thing is in order.
I've heard it all, I've seen it all, I've done it all. I just don't remember any of it.

    0) You are semi IT professional and whilst sleeping most of the day manage to write a begging letter to your Intel relationship manager
    1) They buy them on ebay
    2) People in Bunny suits turn up and deposit them
    3) Some lucky people have ladies turn up and also give them an Intel sweatshirt.
    4) Fred the cleaner at Fab27 is your transexual wife.

I dont suppose you plan to actually add something constructive and on-topic to this thread do you? Or do you prefer to dis-respect members by ruining their threads?

Your warning is not a warning for nothing.

Here is Telinde's prescott 2.8. It looks similar to Charlie's 3.0e underneath. maybe based on stepping 2.

Easiest place to get a ES is from Ebay, often people will post on this forum when one is spotted and not purchased.

Do some research fisrt before you buy.

My 2.8e retail matches that one, even down to the heat spreader blemishes.
