dfi infinity or lan party rev b iirc. some people get 280fsb+ on those boards STOCK!
best clocking cpu.... if money doesnt matter get one of those 3200+ cpus that are clocked at 2.33ghz instead of 2.2ghz like the normal ones.

or maybe rather get a bunch of mobile 2500+ cpus... you can change multis from windows with those mobile xps and some of them are insane ocers. a few people have hit 2.6ghz on air with them.

and defiantely try to get some bh6! from what ive seen the new bh5 sticks cost a lot more and dont oc that high. bh6 needs less volts than bh5 for the same overclock and also seems to scale better with rising vdimm than bh5.

Allright, finally some xtreme 32bit AMD action. Are you gonna strap your cooling beast on to this OPP??? That'd be sweet.

You coming back to Old Skool OPP!!! I have 2 mobile XP 2500's i got friday. I put it in a crappy biostart M7ncg $60 NF2 board, micro ATX, multi, volts and fsb to 225 max on it.

They hit 2500 MHz on the factory sink!!! And a cheap budget board i must stress!!!

Hoping i can mod to put in my Asus 266-d duallie.and upgrade from the 2 xp1700@ 2250mhz each

I tried one, and the pin mod painting, But the dam things default to the lowest Multi like 7 or something. THese are only good on boards that you can adjust the multiplier, Or they default real low.

Dont even ask where i've been!!!

    highest stable barton oc=3.45ghz atm
3.3ghz should be doable with some luck and a few cpus to pick the best of

For sure a DFI Infinity and a mobile 2500...My 2500 will boot into windows at 200x14, but I can't get a shot of it. Once I try to log in I lock. But the only down side is 2v limit on the vcore. Throw a vmod on that, and I bet this thing has 3ghz+ in it.

Is there a link to one of those 2.33g 3200 chips?

Is this a European thing? Never heard of this one before...

Edit: found this article from X-bit, guess HP definitely has some:

lol its a weird idea, but alot of overclockers would like it, having higher multi's unlocked, and 333mhz fsb could easily be brought back up to 400. how much do these retail at compared to the 400mhz 3200? and i believe its clocked at 166x14? also, whats the voltage set at?

Yup the infinity is by far the best OC board right now in the 32bit land.

I have one running 260x10.5 24/7, which is my old rig, which became my brother's new rig when I went 64.

    I was running 2vcore, 1,9vdd, 3,3vdimm 2-2-2-5 1:1

I'm looking at bagging a cheap A7N8X deluxe, to throw some volt mods in it and to see if I can break 260 FSB with it stable

If anyone knows of where to get a cheap, new A7N8X deluxe lemme know

Have you had any luck running those on your duallie? Can't you set the multiplier with the painting guide?

The 2500+ barton uses 1.25v according to The Egg
My question is why are the 2400's faster than the 2500? Everything looks the same except for the voltages.

With a default vcore that low you should easily be able to hit 3ghz in a prommy. The cache on that chip is the same as the regular 2500+, as well as the mhz, but it needs way less volts? Is it a different manufacturing process? Anyways, I think i'll get one too after reading that.

so what ya up to OPP?

can you see the light? is it shining too bright? can you see the light at the end of the tunnel, i know i do, i know its true.

I have to do a little research on cooling chipsets. See how much difference it makes from stock cooling to xtreme. When I use to run a NF2 mobo, useing a pelt on the Northbridge made all the difference, allowed for higher FSB and more agressive mem timings.
So I'm going to set up an NF2 rig again and see. While I'm at it I may as well get a good Overclocking CPU

    Opp,

On the rev 1.2 NF7 xtreme cooling and xtra voltage took it sky-high, but for the later rev 2.0 without the round metal IHS on the NB chip Xtreme cooling nor more than 1.7Vdd didn't do anything.

My NF7-S rev 2.0 did 242 FSB@ only 1.6Vdd and bluescreened if going over 1.65 at high FSB.

I guess it's just hit or miss with those NF7 's.

Can't speak for any other NF2 board as i only had the Abit.
These Infinty and Lanparty boards seem to do quite well.

It'll be fun to see you pushing a Barton again.

    Good luck.

It's not so much the model of the chip, but the week of the chip to tell if it is locked. As least in the case of the "non mobile" bartons. If the barton is pre week 40, it *should* be an unlocked chip. Week 40 and up were locked. However with the mobile bartons, mine was a week 40 something I think, multi is unlocked.

So to answer your question , if you find a 3200/166fsb chip pre week 40, it should be un locked.
