    Question Mach 1 Prommie & R507?!?

I just got a Mach1 Prommie and I called my local refridgerator repair man, he said he'll come by and empty/recharge the compressor with my choice of R404 or R507, are there any extra modifications that I would have to perform with either of these recharges and what would it entail... ive heard people had great success with R507 so I was going to do that, just wanted to ask first...

    Is this watersnoodge?

I have 404a in my prommie with no modifications what-so-ever.

JVLK has 507 in his with no mods.

You can increase performance by changing the length of the captube and adding a larger drier. These are a couple of the things I've seen done by bowman. Search some of his mods for more info on this.

I have had good luck with the 507 mod without cap tube and this may be easiest to do.

have the ac guys send in the charge slowly and fire up the system. you should set the system to operate at appoximatly 6 inches of vacuum for best results. Dont forget when you take the hoses off you will loose a little bit of charge, iirc this will pull you deeper into a vacuum. so you 6 inches becomes 8 inches of vaccum. Your compressor will run warm and not ice up on the side at idle based upon the units I have worked on.

Make sure you put the sides on when in operation to maintain best air flow across the compressors.

The AC guy will need to install a schrader valve, he may also vampire tap the sealed system to recover the gas.

Look on the back of the unit for the original charge amount.

So he should be able to work with "pull it to 250 microns and set it for 6 inches of vacuum"

most of the time I am looking at error mode on the display, playing games(CS, generaly, delta force, ...) it will drop to 48c on the display @ 4Ghz on a 3.2EE.

Make sure that the machine is off and with pressure in the suction lines when you disconect the hoses.
