    AN50R + 3400 lovin ?

Not sure if i got this mombo set up right or not. I'm getting 245x10.5=2575 with 1.74vcore mem timmings are 2-2-2-6-11-16 1 to 1 ratio with 3.048v LDT@2.5

This just dosn't seem to be OCing very wellI've tried lower LDT and with the 11x muti I can ony get to 230fsb. with a 10x multi I run out of fsb at the 245 mark

My mem voltage is now acting funny when it was 1st set up I was running 3.3v's threw the mem the next day it wouldn't boot if the voltage is above 3.1v now the screen goes blank if I even get close to 3.1v. I'm afriad to mess with it I don't want to end up with a dead cpu just yet.

Any one think I have abad seet on the core?

well not sure if I can be any help but I'll tell you how I run mine.

Set in bios to 220fsb. LDT 2x, ram at pc2700 settings on auto.

I max LDT and VDD, set ram to about 2.9v-3.1v(2x512mb mushkin) and get into windows. Down multi to 10.5(most times it freezes and have to reboot), next time I hit desktop I verify multi changed. Run clockgen and push fsb to 250 or so. I get about 2640mhz give or take. I'm running 1.95v through cpu 24/7. Evap temps are about -38C. Not sure of ondie cpu temps.
Cpu seems stable at this speed. Tried 260x10 and I can't loop 3dmark 24/7 at that speed. Unsure why, but prime ran fine 24+ hours at that setting. :O

These are very finiky setups to get run 24/7 when pushed to max.
after I verify 10.5x250 is stable I will up LDT to 2.5 as it should run that no prob, but I wanted to remove one variable in testing.
    it's never fast enough!

Thanx JNav89GT I give it a go. I just thought I would be running 245x11 or better . My LCD went on my Mach2 and I finally plugged in my usb and had readings of -57c evap temps. I'm thinking I have a bad seat. MBM is showing 10c with 1.74 vcore............0c in bios

Doesn’t running your ram at 2700 speeds slow you down? What kind of scores you running in 01? My every day clocks on the VC 455/385 gives me low 2400's

Have you ran the voltage up on your ram and ran into problems like I described? It's just wierd today I'm able to run 3.2v with no problems. Now will it just reboot with the voltage up is the question.

Any help from the Dude would be appreciated

well in my testing, and don't sue me if I'm wrong :p
moving to = cpu speeds and dropping the HT and ram speeds I'd lose about 400-600pts, BUT gain the ability to hit sweet spots in ram/cpu combo so I could eventually overcome that limitation and then gain back

Actually, not that I really think about it, it may have not even been that much of a drop. I dunno really, when I got board I was like a crack head diving into a pile of pure cociana~. NO seriously, I shoulda wrote settings and results down, but I was worried about same thing.
You know I took alot of pics of what I did to my prommy mounting kit before even installing it. I sanded down the stands a good few mm's, as I read of someone else having mounting probs and this was his solution. This ended up interfering with the IC that the cpu volt mod connects to. I had to clearence the mount then. IN the end I make really good contact IMO and at least have piece of mind it's good. My Mach I evap temps are -38C idle and about -32 to -28 loaded

Well I got up to 252x10.5 with your tweaks JNav89GT
LDT is at 2.5 and 3200 mem speeds. I bumped my everyday VC clocks to 468/385 and now i'm getting mid 25,000 in 01
Mem voltage is 3.18 and its rebooting all the time now so i'm not tuch it for a while.

Forgot about that thread about the guy that trimmed his mount. I'll probably let it go to the weekend and tweak this mount in. I really didn't like how it fit over that chip ether.

What kind of temps are you getting in windows? Now that I upped the volts to the cpu I'm running -8c with mother board monitor

Dude spill the beans what kind of volts did you run to get that 2.8 out of your chip

Ok, well I matched and beat my win2k score with my XP untweaked in stall. Granted I had DX9 on Win2k which may have negated any benefit.

this is gonna be about max for this setup unless I get os tweaks going. Not sure how much a tweaked OS will give though.

Well this weekend I think I will check the seat on the core and hook up my pelt and chiller up to the v/c and see what kind of scores I can pull with 545/430 v/c clocks. If I can get it up to 250x11 that will be rockin

I tried going 255x10.5 w/2.0 vcore last night and everthing went black. It doesn't seem the same any more. I've dropped my voltages and am just going to run 230x11 till the weekend. I thought the cpu was dead. I think it has somthing to do with the mem voltage as the only way I can get it to restart is to lower the voltage I'm was only trying to run 3.18. And then trying to change multi's in clockgen it gave a black screen tonight.

well 261 just isn't stable for me
not sure if it's my board or my ram limiting me, or mabye cpu.

I could run 249x10.5=2600 or so mhz but scores kinda sucked. I was in the mid high 23's . Granted LOD was default but still.

I wish I knew what it was, maybe I'll nerf my multi a bit and see if I can run stable higher fsb's, at least then it would tell me if board was stable there or not. Problem is my OS is buggy now and maybe need to reinstall
IF the board isn't stable there I'll be mad. I don't know what I'll do then. Live with a bit less performance at 250fsb or swap in my other shuttle board, but that means redoing hermetic seal on the prommy kit which is a huge PIA. I have a guy in my clan that is looking at A64 so I can sell my cpu off for what I payed and get another b/c mines a turd and only runs 2.6ghz on the prommy and my other Shuttle mobo. Maybe I'll try the Via KT800 Albatron board then b/c I'm running 235fsb on that system now and at 235 I should still be able to run an ATI card right????

Hey cowpuppy, sorry to hear about your troubles. I was curious, how did you get over 1.95v vcore on the an50r without the Over volt protection kicking in?

As far as not getting a good seat on the prommy, with the way the a-64 kit fits on the shuttle, I would think it would be impossible to get a bad seat. IT's such a tight fit and the spreader surface is not that far down from the outer surface of the top mounting plate.

Also, I found that the other voltages in bios cause nothing but instability at any FSB, especially for 3dmark. ALL of the 3400+ chip(s) that I tested ran farther with all other volts left at auto(ldt, chipset, agp), even @ 2.86ghz. These chips love vcore.......1.86-1.95 was needed for above 255x11 on ALL the ones I tested.

One more thing....the damn overvolt protection is so touchy on this board. When I first did the mods, it would black screen alot, crash coming out of bios, and just generally bad overclocking and instability. I figured out, that I had to leave the ram volts in the bios alone at auto, and ONLY use the trimmer/pot to adjust the ram voltage up and down. Once I started doing this, I had virtually 0 problems until I hit each chips limit. I saw this same behavior on 2 different an50r's so I think it's an issue with the mobo.

    Hope this helps someone....

    hrm
well maybe I'll down my LDT and agp to auto.
I can get my voltage to 1.98v via both trimmer and set at 1.7 in bios. I can run 2610mhz but not higher, this confirmed at diff bus settings. Mabye I'll back off a bit on voltage in bios, set it to auto, and go from trimmer to see if it changes.

k|ngp|n...............Thanks for the advice. what mem are you running and what kind of volts are you running to it? Is that at ddr 400 speeds? Timmings?

I see your in Detroit where at ? MrZee and I just meet up with mdzcpa a few weeks ago. It would be cool to get a together.
