yea that is a very nice unit...

she is a thing of beauty

but chilly if you dont come up with a better insulated cover it will distroy a mother board very fast...condensation will get it.

i have done what you are trying to do.and it always gets the mother board

But on a good note there is a something new coming out in the next month that should solve that problem and set the forum on fire...a complete new evap and insulated cover and mounting system...but it will be a few weeks...

Looks very nice. At first I wasent sure if the case was a case or a fancey box Howed you do that?

And yea reinsulate the block. I'm gona wrap mine in pipewrap/armaflex whatever you call it so the case and main part gets insulated than you can wrap some more around and add some dielectric greese to get the edges and stuff once its mounted. Should work well. Than bring the suction line insulation all the way down to the holddown plexi.

Chilly, is that a rubber hose? Do you thrust them at these temperatures? Personally I don't.

Rated at -80 refrigeration hose.... If i go colder then I use stainless.
For insulation I use closed cell foam, seal string and gasketed block... looking forward to a better solution.

so does that mean if we already have a baker block we wont be able to get the insulation and mounting system seperatly? as i already have the evap.

I am quoting Baker here. If you cut the corners off the block it will fit the older version..
I am in hopes that they have a way of putting this over an assembled rig and not having to builtd with it in palace, we shall see.

really nice work chilly! is that the rig we've been talking about in pms a while back?

    anyway..
bowman, that's a cool piece shown there.. just 2 quick questions about it.
    a) what's the dimensions of the baseplate?
    b) what material is that shell made of? looks like some kind of
metal or carbon fiber stuff, judging from the seam right above the baseplate. seems to be made with a 2-piece mold.

My mounting block is made out of the same material as Chilly's. All I did was simply wrap a couple of layers of 1/4 neoprene around it and it works perfect.

I suppose you could hollow out the mounting block and fill it with foam and you would be set.

Great job Chilly!!! I hope you make many more.
