week 49 barton unlocked again

i read a report from a dude in south africa who got his hands on a week 49 2500+. he claims it is unlocked. now this is very interesting. firstly it is not week 49 yet so it looks like it's been shoved out the door early for some reason. and secondly i thought that they all would be locked by now.
do you think that all the slagging off of amd has made them reverse their decision to lock them up? sounds good to me. lots of peeps claimed that they would move to the dark side if amd locked their chips. maybe they took some notice.

If true, it's great. But where did you read this? It's sounds a little indistinct. If he can post pics or something I will believe it.

Just got a 2500 Barton from Cyberdyne and its unlocked.
Its a week 49 chip...

I don't that it's unlocked.. no cpu specs.. no pics..
Just an kid who don't know what the different is between locked and unlocked cpu's, I gues...

Er the big problem with that claim is that we are not even at week 49 yet!!! Week 49 is the beginning of December. So he must have gotten into his time machine to get that cpu.

I don't believe it either. It's week 47 now. AMD does not put these week numbers on their chips for fun or to designate some sort of change in the chip.
