No mercy on the FX-51 this time

It came back from Aces so i could enjoy it for a few hours

goddamnit i simply couldnt get it into Windows at 3G

I have 1.775V in the BIOS... which is more like 1.74V real... if i had 1.850 I swear to you i could bench it at 3 GHz... bloody ASUS.

I ran the memory almost as high as it would go, 224-226 MHz 1:1 2-5-3-2 at 2.70 volts. This is the corsair 400 registered and i can tell you its pretty damn good. The Kingston 400 registered is absolute crap stay away from that POS.

    mem bench

    some rather useless sandra shots

    pifast getting closer macci

I have an utterly useless 9800pro here that i can only get up to 438/357 stock. nonetheless im a hair from 24K with a car high of 140 FPS and lobby high 165.2 FPS. If I had some good radeon clocks I think i could get 27K because this graphics card just bottlenecks everything,,, although lobby low did start off at 602 FPS even with a low card
I ran some PCmark just to forget about the possibe 3D scores I could make http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm=1529525

What I need - but cant do sadly - is a Vmem mod and a tad more Vcore voltage. Then I can see a 41.5-42s pifast and 28-29s super pi time. memory speed is the key really... i could bench everything pretty much stable at 2.91 GHz, the memory and FSB were a pain in the ass though and soft reboots just dont work. The BIOS is one big bug as well.

just this afternoon everyone was telling Opp to get the 3200, but I said I was more curious to see the AFX 51 with Corsair ECC 3200, at 2.9 ghz, cause it sure should get 27k...

    and here you are...

seems you never really have to wait for things long here on XS

Hope you share the SK8N BIOS...
I really wish you had a fine R9800 to show off some BIG scores, it'd be December all over again with you on the top of the ORB for 2 months!

That's obscene memory b/w at 227fsb...about the same as Intel at about 285 1:1...
    wow!
JCV, What do you think is the bottleneck? The dry ice guys stopped at about the same point as you...maybe it's the RAM? Do you think more vdimm would help? Or would more Vcore help?
    I just can't help dreaming about 14 x 250 :p

    FYI,
These things aren't nearly so expensive on the street. I've seen FX languishing on Ebay at 700 with no bids...and sk8n sell for 179...the market is pretty soft for these and in a few weeks I think 3200+ will be 300 and fx will be 500...

If you want my love back, I am afraid you are just going to have to send me that CPU! (joke)

The... bandwidth... That is some IMPRESSIVE registered RAM. I must say, Corsair has outdone themselves with that stuff!

I just got a system ordered for my neighbor with the A64 3200+ and DDR400 HyperX with a Sapphire 9800. Ordered it with the ASUS K8V since I'm hearing bad things about nForce3's IDE stability.

Good news for Abit fans, the KV8 has MaxFID which may mean unlocked A64s! We can only hope! Cross your fingers and pray to the overclocking gods that these chips and boards are going to be our xtreme saviors.
Take out your ex tonight... one bullet should do it.

I've effectively killed my sig because it is no longer accurate. Oh well!
