    New Cube Case (AKA BEAST)

Well after much hard work, my beast is just about done. For a long time I have wanted a pimped out rig, now I think I have just that. Those of you who know my 'old rig' (Lite-On FS-020), this new rig has all the same parts, except now I have 2 Heater Cores running in parallel. The new rig sports 13 fans and is lighter and QUIETER than the box it replaces.

My main mission on this project was to seperate the case, which a cube does by design (well this one does anyway) . I wanted the pump, PSU and all drives AWAY from the MOBO and processor. I have achieved my mission.

    FANS
    ------
    120mm's:
    4 Panaflo M1A's on the HC's - 86CFM @ 35dBa all on Rheostat
    2 Panaflo L1A's on the 2 top front intakes - 69CFM @ 30dBa
3 Mechatronics, 2 on top (one blowing in mobo side, one exhausting, pump side and one behind the mobo) - 55CFM @ 25dBA
    80mm's:
    4 Panaflo L1A 24CFM @ 22dBa on rear exhausting.

CPU temps are roughly 4C - 5C better with the same settings and the same components, the added air and dual HC's really help.

I plan to do a build 'article' in the near future but I will show some early finished pics here.

    The Old Rig:

Very simular to what I had thought about doing with my vapo and promie in the same box, I don't think I have the skills or tools to pull it off and look as clean as yours though.

Once agian that is fantastic work nikhsub1 !!!

P.S. Ear plugs required !!! hehe I just noticed how many fans you are using, are those YS tech 120mm ??

I'd hate to pile a load of weight on the base of it tho... doubt it could take the weight of a promi on the base if you lifted it... no bracing etc so it'd probably bend the baseplate looking at it...
(see THIS PIC for a clear shot of the base)

Easily solved tho with some square section or similar tho... tempting....

You'd be surprised, it is very sturdy. How much does a prommy unit weigh?

Compressor probably about 20kgs fully charged... nice job on the case tho d00d... looks mint... with those rads I'd be tempted to get a set of manifolds and slap blocks on the NB and GPU too in parallel....

    Very nice indeed Nikhsub1 !

I do have to wonder a bit about the 4-5C drop in temps. You have moved alot of your heat sources to the non motherboard side, so they don't contribute to your in case temps on the motherboard.

So do all those fans really aid cooling all that much? Have you done any comparitive testing of this by turning off fans selectivly?

But regardless, a great looking and performing rig! !

Yes the faceplates of the 5.25's are just well, ugly. I will be fixing that soon enough though!
