I did the mod for a friend a few days ago....cant exactly remember the name of the resistor, but its in the same location as the r50; the top resistor to the right of the winbond chip.

cheers, did the mod and it worked

though it was bit scary to remove the lil surface mount component (it's so damn small)

Yep the mod was done 100% successfull and im currently getting 2.78vdimm when set to 2.5 in bios and 3.15vdimm when set to 2.8 in bios.

We started at 300 ohms and then worked up and i think it was ~450 ohms when we settled for the above settings

VTT has dropped to 1.24 volts when vdimm is set to 2.90 (real) or below....but when it gets up to ~3.10vdimm (real) it rises to ~1.36 So it looks like the are related somehow.....

Kudos and many thanks to Ragnorok and his cousin for doing the mod for me while I looked on

1K ohm variável resistor (at least according to babelfish)

different board, but u can see a variable resistor next to the AGP slot

I would like to use a resistor like this pic, 330Ohms, can give me 3.1v? Or I need a Higher rated resistor?:

if I use de 1K OHM Variable Resistor Do i need to ground it?: Because I saw it has 3 legs, so I´m not quite sure where do solder de cables
I really preffer the resistor mod over the VR,

u can use a fixed value resistor, prob need a 400 ohm to give u 3.1V

btw, one of the 2 soldering point is a ground...

Tks man, gonna look for some 400ohm resistors to do the mod, since I´ll be taking the mobo of the case, Ill put some cooling in the mosfets and put a zalman heatsink on NB

Thanks for the input, really helpfull
