For those who liked my DDR 515 sccreenies

This is what I used to get DDR 515 in DC mode . Its going to be released tomorow so its not quite official yet. They shoud run on average in the 500Mhz range with a voltage bump

These are slated to ship next week to newegg and reviewers already have samples in transit , so its pretty likely someone can out do me .

whoa, finally a DDR 3700 to take serious.
them cas 2.5-3-3 are just a joke, flopping out at cas 2 always.
hope these are finally the begining of a new standard.
be nice to see some 3700 sticks come from more companys now.
more ram, more choices, more overclocking.

Can't even imagine what the cost of those things are going to be with gold heat speaders on them. So Ryan, share a little insight with us here. It's been sort of a debate going around the forums that ram heat speaders are basically useless. Can you confirm either way to whether they do actually have any true effectiveness or not? Personally, I see the design of the currently used style heat speaders and wonder if they help as much as they hurt. What I mean is there is no actual fins for dissapating the heat, so in essence they seem like they would serve just as much as a insulator as they would for heat dispersment. True they would help for a while till the systemn has been up and running for a couple hours, but then I see them holding in the heat in the long run for those of us that run our systems 24/7.

Ive allways considered heatspreaders on ram to fulfill two things.

1 - they look nice
2 - They cover up what chips the manufacturer is using.

Ive run my memory without heatspreaders, with them and with them frozen (cold spray from a can

)
Ive never noticed any significant gains by cooling my ram.

Obviously ive never used these new ULN based modules so maybee a heatspreader is necicary/helpfull... but im a cynic born and bread...

The last spreaders i took off ocz ram just had ocz printed on the chips anyway...

But agreed both me and jess have tec'd ram freezing it all the way to the socket for like 1fsb gain if any...

I chilled mine with some copper heatsinks epoxied on then I sprayed it will cool spray from maplins, I didnt get any gains at all (Didnt run like this for long, condensation scares me)

I have run these at 500+ with 2.8 volts no noticable issues and rock solid stable , something to note is they really dont like fast timings ( below 2-3-6-3 ) at any speed , there basicaly built for top end speed only

I hope they are good.. My XMS3500 stick I think gave up or need more Vdimm to go farther than 233 w/ 2-2-2-5 2.8v

Think how awesome they'd look in a modded case, lol.

Those modules really do look good though. And now, back to benching.

IMHO Heatspreaders do seem to help , but whether or not the cooling effect is large enough to make any diference overclocking is debatable

What about the fact that boards like the IC7 will not hit 2.8v without physically modifying them.

They only hit 2.78v actual on a good day, without the mod.
