    GA8INXP OC problems!

Hi everyone, first of all i must mention ive been a frequent reader of this forum for a year but this is my first posting so bare with me

    My problem is this!

Im runnin a Gigabyte 8INXP mobo with a P4 2.66 CPU C1 stepping and i cant seem to get past 163 in my FSB with a stable result! Thing is that above that 3D Mark 03 crashes somewhere in the last 3 "sound" tests! It doesnt throw me back to windows, it just gives me a black screen with the sound from the crashed test looping! Ive tried increasing the corevoltage without any luck!

    i've got the same mainboard and a P4 1.6A
    i can't get it past 162Mhz FSB
when i boot with FSB set to 162 i get a weird error from MBM 5.3
it says there's something wrong with my kernel.dll
but when i lower the FSB everything works fine again ...

I had that motherboard back when, and Almost everybody has the same problem as you. Its hard to even get past 150 fsb. Gigabyte is all about the little goodies and features. But if your looking for ocing big time Giagbyte is not the way to go>

hm the first two pix look really bad, i cant recognize any numbers on it but the 21K of the 2k1 bench.

so you got 21K with an fsb of just 169?

how is that posible that this guy gets the same score with an fsb of almost 300!!! and the memory running @ 230 cl2?

    hows that possible?

ive seen a review comparing the 875 vs the granite bay. result, they perform about the same, the 875 is a bit faster @ the same speed.

so the 875 is as fast as the 7205, then how can you get 21K with an fsb of 170 and this guy gets 21K with an fsb of 280?

i'm gonna install the modded bios in a couple of days, hopefully it'll get me past 162Mhz FSB

    one other thing:
i've got Corsair PC3200 CAS2 currently running at 312Mhz, (156MHZ FSB) so they're not at their full capacity yet
and still, they don't like the 5-2-2 timings, the only timings i can squeeze out of them is 6-2-2 !!!
    that's like, SUCKAGE ?? :S

and btw, my NB temp sensor is broken i think ...
it ALWAYS displays 25° Celcius ....
and really ALWAYS it was 37° outside for the pas week, that makes it around 42-45° inside
and the NB was still only 25° Celcius warm ......

oh and btw, is it possible to get your ram running asynch ?

cos i'm running at 156FSB while my ram is made for 200FSB so i'd kinda like my ram to run a little faster
