I think the program uses a generic English[US] dictionary, not one that was customized by Mozilla.

I've been using daily builds for awhile, so here's my opinion. Firefox 2.0 will have some nice features and improvements, but I would have liked to see more.

    Good:
    -In-line spell checker is nice.
-Search engine manager is long overdue.
-Add-ons manager is a huge improvement over the separate extension and themes managers.
-UI changes (close buttons on each tab, more normal drop down button for the search bar, and changes to the options menu) will probably help new users, although I don't find most of them useful.
-A lot of printing and print preview issues are fixed from 1.5.x and earlier.
-Google SafeBrowsing might protect novice users and many others, and it will be easy to disable in case it worries the tinfoil hat crowd.

    Bad/Disappontments:
-No "Places" (the new bookmarks system), but it would have delayed the release to get all the bugs out of places for 2.0.
-Tab sessions are only restored after a crash. Opera can restore tab sessions during a normal program close, without an extension, so Firefox should add this feature. It would probably only require an additional UI option, and a few tweaks to the current restore-after-crash setup.
-There's no built in undo close tab feature, which seems useful now that there are close buttons on every tab. Again, this is something that Opera can do and it doesn't seem like something that would be difficult to add.

    Haven't tested:
    -Microsummaries

    Possible Nice additions
-Built-in feed reader like the Sage extension. Considering the amount of effort that the devs are putting into notifying people of feeds, it seems like there should be a better answer than "Live Bookmarks." However, I can see why this might be kept out to keep the install file size down, and because many people wouldn't know it was there. Still, a built-in reader might encourage them to.

    Sorry for the long post.

To add-on to what Elder Young said.

    Pros-
    Opera style tabs

    Cons-
Have crashes when I have a few tabs open and try viewing a large PDF file in browser(I just save them to disk and open via pure acrobat now ).

Just alpha comments though. Sometimes the autoupdates fail too. It will say it couldn't update a file etc and you have to try again. I've just downloaded the most recent nightly build .zip, unzipped and overwrote the existing files.

And +1 for the spell check. Love it.

If the update message is something like, "Update could not be applied because one or more files could not be modified" then I believe that's Windows file system protection. I usually get that message if I try to apply a few daily updates within a 5-10 minute time period.

If the message is, "Partial update could not be verified. Downloading full update," then that's just a temporary problem with the autoupdate servers, say if you try to update at almost the exact time the partial updates are uploaded to the various update mirrors.
