Exclamation A Warning for New Product Previews and Releases

A Warning for New Product Previews and Releases

This is a big time for XS and the entire computing world and there is an issue that XS Staff would like to address.

Intel and AMD are both releasing new products very shortly and we’re all expecting a lot from both parties. Fortunately for us, we have members of this forum who have access to this hardware and are gracious enough to benchmark it and show us the results.

However, every time we get one of these previews, there are people who feel the need to make a post saying how bad the other hardware is, or question the legitimacy of the hardware’s benchmark scores. Not only does the threadcrapping lead to further flaming, it leads threads off topic, frustrates a lot of people (especially those who provide the previews) and is just unnecessary. On top of all that, with all these previews, we have a lot of visitors viewing the forum and it makes XS look bad.

    This threadcrapping has to stop.

Consider this the official warning to all! XS Staff will not hesitate to possibly ban those who threadcrap.

Thank You. Long time lurker here. Two things originally attracted me to this site, cutting edge information and less squabbling than the other forums. XS is in a class of it's on and I would like to see it stay that way.

    Excellent post!
AMD and Intel BOTH make great products..
Time to enjoy them for what they are..
The arguments over who is better just hurt us all.
Intel may have the hot item today, AMD tomorrow..
The competition between them is good for them and better for us!

    fullack to your announcement!

maybe you should introduce credit or warning system for Mods... in some Forums Mods are able to give negative Credits via a Mouseclick and after a few warnings the member is banned for a while. but then you really have to trust your Mods, abuse would not be good for the forums rep.

might result in more usefull posts... some are just stupid and senseless...

(btw, just wrote my English A-Level Exam - app. 1250 Words ^^ i'm damn happy )

I hope this actualy works. I get tired of reading through pages of useless info just to find what I was looking for to begin with, when I look at a thread about a conroe chip or an AMD chip I want to read the details and not how one persons opinion differs from anothers, or what (pwns) what.

Ive broken Jaws and nose's for much less.

Well said, I even would welcome it to go further and make a section just for previews - no comments, no trash talk, just pure results and qualyfied opinions about the new stuph from renowned members. this would keep it clean and would cause less administrative work for you.

talking aboutreading thru pages and pages of useless info....i wonder whether is there any way to curb this...

this always happens when someone made an amazing discovery, new HW or new WR, the pages will be filled with single liner replies with congrats and etc....i am not saying taht its no good, naturally the threadstarter should receive his credits for what he is doing...but i do find it annoying going through 30 pages of a thread looking for useful info while 28 pages of it ware filled with sinlge line replies...

    juz my opinion...

I am new here, but i think at least givig "single liner replies with congrats and etc" is quite good way to say "thanks - that was amazing and i want to score as high as him".
And that warning was quite in place - althought i am new registered member but i was sitting long here as guest - tahat quarrel about who's better is quite annoying.
    Just my opinion.

Think of it like this. Both will have their day. Its the "newer" hardware thats the best. Especially with generational changes (like with Conroe). It really does not matter who put it out. If via put something out that rocked I'd buy it as well.
