    this is most likely woodcrest.
allendale is conroe with 2M of L2 of cache.
    (or was it single-core conroe?)
either way, it is a crippled conroe :-P
    but woodcrest not..

17sec stock superpi is kinda mad lol

Allendale is the low cache version of memrom/Conroe and so not Xeon which tend to have large cache sizes. I think Woodcrest is the name of the large cache server based version of Conroe.

I think Allendale also is 1066fsb so whatever this chip is it is not Allendale ! Looks like a 1333Mhz 4Mb Conroe ....

This looks like a Woodcrest-based Xeon, which would make it dual-core and S771.

And if the 3GHZ @ 1.2V are anything to go by, well, lets just hope Conroe cores will do as well ...

Actually I think Woodcrest was supposed to come out at 2.93GHz and so this would be a close match ..so I change my mind and it is Woodcrest

    Thx.
    I think it's dualcore woodcrest and LGA771-Sockel

its woodcrest, this is the highest end Core macroarchitecture CPU which will be resleased in Q3, so thats pretty nice :p

EDIT: now someone go overclock one d@mnit. Just one more multiplier and you got the XE there...

    That is simply insane.

Intel said in their earniong release call that they are already building inventories of Conroe , Merom , Woodcrest and availability should be no problem in Q3 ( July-August ) when they are launched.

well, Intel pretty much said they were going down the ter for Q1 and Q2, so they gotta say something good to the investors to keep their stock from going south. HAving said that, I still expect their stock to fall pretty bad, and then guess whos gonna buy it right before Conroe comes out .

Just like I said months ago. Conroe XE will pull sub-16 seconds stock at 3.33Ghz. Expect many systems OC'ed with good memory and tight(er) timings to go sub-12 seconds on SPI 1M. The champs will be in the low 9 second range.

we'll have to wait and see, don't make sense that Presler only overclocks to ~4G on air, and yet you suggest Conroe can make nearly the same speed with less than half the pipe length.
