AOpen i975X YDGa Problem Solving thread

    Ok guys,

We have problems we have to work out. As many people will get this problem

    =============================================

    Problems occure: stuck FSB

    when?

    No difference between:

    - step 4 and step 8 cpu's
    - Pci-e clocks to even 140mhz
    - pci-e voltage to max
    - Northbridge voltage to max
    - vcore voltage with mods to even 1.6v
    - Many differrent ddr2 sticks from different brands
    - Cooling from better aircooling to even -190°c and no difference
    - I changed the cooling paste on the northbridge cooler
    - I placed a big fan on the northbrigde cooler
    - from sample bios to the beta bios
    - placed memmory in other dimm's
    - i ran single channel
    - i used clockgen so in windows on the fly overclocking
    - i used many memmory settings

    =======================================

    So what would it be..

Hicookie has the same problems as me.
We both have a Rev 00A bord (he has retail. i have sample)

If you have an other rev.. please post

please post comments in order to help if you have tested!

i doubt it, there would be a larger range of instability then

i'm guessing bios. newegg is showing 1066fsb support, so they better update it soon!

Check what week your PLL was made and see if there's a dodgy week or something...

there wasn't a problem at all... it just needed more.

the adapter supplied stock voltages perfectly.

These Yonahs still use a VCCA supply so it's no different.

    Here we are:

well if the "PLL Supply Voltage" was increased, FSB wall may increase right?

I have the same prob, stuck at 224FSB.

Tried NB volts, PCI vid card, 2 sticks of ram, better chipset cooling and a few bios settings, no luck.

    Finished PI 1M @ 225FSB!!!

    And she's still stable!!!

Did a few changes, just gonna check which one worked or if I just got lucky and it's gonna freeze at 226...

nup 226 froze at loop 3 - but she's getting better.

    What clockgen are we using?

I set tRas to 12 (Cpuz 16) - definately on 12 though, my sticks won't do tRas above 12.

However when I raised Vcore to 1.5V it was unstable at 225 again.

    Trying again at 1.4 atm,

yep seems stable enough, just finished two 1M loops...and died on 3rd
