Just amazing. Congrats to the masters, and we hope to see more

Now that the NDA on rd580 has lifted, top 5 has already been dominated by ATI.

Yeah I doubt someone as trusted as Macci would skew results.

    Good stuff guys.

Yeah, i'm afraid you're right. G71 should OC like a beast.

    So, when's ATI's next refresh?

    This is an expensive hobby.

Not bad yes, but it needs 750MHz to match/beat the x1900xt. 60MHz increase is not very impressive too, considering the x1900xt can go up to 700-750MHz on air which is 100-125MHz extra.

    Anyways, we shall see.

How about a gentleman's agreement to run an additional set of benchmarks at 1600x1200 with 4xaa and 8xaf among all the top scorers and post those results along with your default settings results so we can actually see there's a difference between two card types.. because 5% difference makes no difference as far as I'm concerned.

    Just a thought!

Congrats as always to top ORB benchmarkers!

Radeon X1900 CF running at pretty low frequencies: 800/843 MHz
Pretty low. They aren't done yet i bet.

Anyway, i bet G71 will rock the house, but i think i'll keep my X1900.

It's nice to see the extremes slug it out though.

The thing is if you do that, nvidia gets beaten by a large margin. This much is well known.

Willis I think your misunderstanding that the amount of points that seperate those two scores isn't really that much. Those who benchmark know this as well. First and second place mean nothing on their skill, knowledge, talent, whatver. They are simply the best OC'ers around and both uncomparable to each other. Plain and simple, nice work guys. Very impressive!

In addition to what BSill said, there somethings you are missing. Here are both scores:

Both macci and hipro are masters in the art, no one can deny that. But everyone also knows that 3dmark01 is more a CPU than a GPU bench, but the GPU still plays a role. On top of that, everyone knows that dothans dominate any A64 clock for clock.

With these things taken into account, hipro was running at 41xxMHz on the dothan, and macci only at 34xxMHz on the FX-60. On top of that, the cards macci used were watercooled vs what hipro used (@ -25c? I know it was below zero).

I am sure that an fx-60 at 3.7Ghz in macci's hands will go above and beyond 55k.
