Hmmm, him working closely with ATI does give him incredible benefits and the average enthusiast will have a slim chance of ever competing with his milestones.

A bit unfortunate, but then this isn't a sport for the underdogs.

Macci is a master. 20K on water, just wow.

I strongly doubt anything nvidia can do to the G70 will make it that crazy.

It`s not the matter of water cooling - dual GPUs are soo limited with CPU power these days, even stock ones are(I mean high-end ones ). Closest score on the ORB now is 19K with CF - so no surprise with 20K on that matter. The interesting thing is that Kinping`s score is achived with same CPU OC, can`t see detailed results cos ORB is down on those - could this mean RD580 is stronger than SLI 16x ?

Its most likely a backup he had with LOD tweaks. Thats my guess.

20k is a joke with x1900 cf on an RD580. I'm sure once someone gets their hands on a good RD580 with xtreme cooled x1900s it will be even higher than 20k.

IMO 3DMark `05 is outdated with R580 CF on the way. `06 is the challenge for those cards.

My x1900CF smokes at 2K6 but I can see the 8x8 PCIE holding me back in 2K5

Just shy of 11K with air cooled gpu's and stock sinks.

So Kinping`s 19K achieved with 3.5GHz dualy and 760/890. And if macci`s 20K with same cpu and 800/800 GPUs are correct that puts RD580 ahead of NVidia`s SLI 16x no doubtly.
Heh...NForce best for NVidia, Xpress best for ATI
    Still great result.

Kinc is poised to break 20k soon cybercat...so its the level of skill and experience you have that gets those results, not just how much of an insider one is.

    looking at his specs:

    2x1900 800/800(watercooling)
    FX60@3.5

These should be doable by most people on extreme cooling. You can't blame "favoritism" unless it's something really unfair, like 2x1900 at 1k/1k

Well what are you waiting for??

As far as macci is concerned the rumored 20K would only be a preview of RD580 CF power, especially due to the card clocks. If he was benching for real the cards would be more like 970/1000.

i heared the same, that RD580 will come to break some records.

and when NDA of the RD580 is over, some WR will come to ATI.

Out of context...as macci has joined ATI, he DOES have access to resources most do not...

But yea, at the very least, a link would be nice. Though I imagine 20k will be announced at cebit or something...which is stupid considering nvidia will have 22k by then with G71 sli....

Kind of reminds me of that booth at CES...Paraphrased by me:

    (Day 1) Booth #1: World's Biggest Plasma: 141 inches

    (Day 2) Booth #2: World's Biggest Plasma: 143 inches

(Day 3) Booth #1: REALLY REALLY BIG ASS PLASMA NTL: 141 inches
    __________________________________________________ __________________

Regardless if Nvidia topples it by a little, having the power to do 20k (just like having a TV that's 140+inches) with either flavor is still a feat, even if acheived (or publisized) at the same time, albeit by diffrerent means.
    That is all.

    Peace and love.

Well whatever NVIDIA's plans for G71 are as good as this thread.... nothing is Solid. Anyways took some time for 20K in 2K5 with such powerful names behind such powerful and cold hardware .
