Post Settings Databse: 2GB G.Skill HZ (Please Contribute!)

There have been many threads with this information posted all over this forum. The goal of this thread is to combine all of the stable settings in to one easy to follow Excel file. I think this will make it easy for us to not only troubleshoot our memory, but to find trends that result in better overclocks!

    Product Link: F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ

Your memory must be 32M SUPER PI stable and running at settings other than stock!

    Please contribute the following:
    1. A64 Screenshot
    2. CPU-Z Screenshot (Showing Memory)
    3. Voltage
    4. ACTUALTref Value (3684 instead of 100 * 3.9)
    5. ACTUAL Drive strengths... (8/3, 8/2, 8/1, 7/3, 7/2...)

As always, screen shots of A64 Tweaker and Bios configurations will be helpful! I will update the database as often as possible.

Please also list your motherboard and bios!

NOTE: You can now use the tabs at the bottom of Excel to find the minmum, average, maximum and weighted averages of all the settings in the database! That is, you can find the weighted average of each setting- so someone's stable settings at 300 Mhz will have counted more than someone's stable settings at 270 Mhz!

    UPDATED 2/17/06!
Slight revisions with TONS of NEW FEATURES!

Great Idea...is it possible to get a thread like this for 1gbff series? I cannot find much on specific settings for my ram, and tried the settings from the ddr600 thread. As soon as I think im stable I'll get an error somewhere.

Its difficult because even if you have the same chips, all ram is essentially different. I think if we can get enough data collected we can start to compile it and see what we can find.

True, my old pc2700 512 chip works fine with optimized defaults, and gskill 2x512 will cause errors. But passed over 8hrs of memtest in windows and dos with 300*8, 1:1 1T. Trying it again, with lower vcore and settings from the gskill site. Maybe the cpu was too hot with gaming, but cpu temp wasnt above 40 degrees, unless the gauge is way off.

Note that for the shot below I had to have the modules in the right order, one module is weaker and needs to be closer to the CPU.

I should test what each module is doing someday...

I didn't do superpi, but the prime in the background is running for hours.

    Motherboard DFI SLI-DR, BIOS 623-3.

I gained these setting by not using DFI's autodetection, but by working from my TCCD settings.

I didn't record which CPU I used, sorry.

I think everyone should post their actual TREF and drive/data strength as well..

    UPDATED 2/16/06!

I've made it very easy to contribute settings instead of having to list out a bunch of values. I will no longer be collecting data from other threads, in order to be listed you will have to make a post with the necessary criteria.

All users listed in the database at this time have been sent a private message and asked to verify thier settings and provide any missing information.

I have also restructured the database slightly and fixed minor typos and errors.

Before this database gets too big, could you PLEASE go back and add the type of motherboard and cpu to each listing?

I'm really struggling to get mine stable above 270, and every set of settings is always unique to the mobo/RAM combo, so adding those fields would be MUCH appreciated.

Also, the data/drive strength settings really need to be spelled out numerically, or perhaps even "AUTO"...

Thanks for putting this together! hopefully I'll be able to contribute if I can ever get mine to run a single damn memtest without errors above 270! lol...

Here's mine.. max of these sticks are 258-259 Fortunately they at least hold 3-4-3-8 timings up to the max...

Actual TREF is 3684 and Drive/data are 7/1.

Maybe I'll take the heatspreaders off

Well, I hope you mean this...

Also, could be interesting to see your findings on those 14 pairs you went through before posting the great OC results on the 15th pair....that is if you saved that info...?

First Up these Sticks was looking very BAD at first.

I had trouble even getting 260Mhz Stable and 270Mhz wouldnt even post with all others settings posted here so.

Now i have them Stable at 268Mhz 3-4-4-8

    DFI Expert/Opty 146 CABYE @ 2.95Ghz

    TREF is 3684
    Drive/data are 7/1.

Also Note these sticks needed 2.64v (MBM5 Reading) To do anythink. Trwt must be at 3 to even post.

Im currently testing 3-4-3-8 270Mhz ok So post more latter.

    Ok update results

I played with the timmings and increased the Vdimm to 2.67v as this was required to hit 3-4-3-6 270Mhz. Also tho any more of an increase resulted in SUPER PI 32mb fail.

I managed to tighten some other values and still keep 32MB pass. Im looping 3Dmark now for Game test.

    DFI Expert 12/7
    146 2.92Ghz

    Vdimm (MBM5) 2.53v
    TREF is 3684
    Drive/data are 7/1.

These Sticks looked to be a complete disaster from the word go. I had soo much trouble to even get them to hit 260Mhz 3-4-4-8.

Well ive now got some wicked results and they are really starting to shine compared to what they was.

They Pass Super PI 32mb and Im still Priming

no offense, and I REALLY appreciate your efforts, but the entire DB is still pretty useless without the motherboard listed... or is it there somewhere and I'm just blind?
