3GHz on Air.. (Sorry for the big screenshots.. made a mistake)

    Seeing is believing.

    2.8GHz @Stock VCore (1.312V)

    http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/9...allfftb7mq.jpg

Please do not pm me asking where I got it, what the stepping is, how much I'm gonna charge for it, etc.. I didn't check the stepping and it's already installed, I don't want to take it apart. Thanks!

What is the stepping and where did you get it?

I don't think we're allowed to ask questions in this thread I think it's supposed to be like an art viewing. We're supposed to come in, take a look at the pics, come up with our own conclusions about what we see, and then move on without saying a word.....

i am currenty working on the same thing.

prime stable at 2.8 w/ stock vcore (1.31)

Seems stable at 2.9, didnt test much... went straight to 3gighz

didnt boot into windows with stock voltage, had to up it to 1.36 to boot into windows at 3gighz

I have a weak core0, currently trying to burn that in. Right now I am at 1.456 burning in core0.

he has to have a 0550, I have tested a lot of processors and that is the only thing that seems to make sense. The crazy thing is, my core1 is prime stable in windows at 3gighz w/ 1.36vcore.

Edit: Prime stable @ 1.5vcore, now burning in core0 in an attempt to lower that.

I got my 0550 VPMW from a close friend, hopefully going to get a few more shortly

I agree, but this isn't a patience issue. He clearly states at the bottom of the post that he's not bothering to give steppings or where he purchased it. Now coming from the guys that get engineering samples for the purpose of testing hardware this is fine. Coming from someone who is a normal part of the retail commmunity there really is no point of posting. No one wants to read "Look at my overclock, and I'm not telling" type of posts. I was under the impression we are all here to provide each other with the best information on products and their details so we can make informed purchases.

yup. Just a big typhoon in my apartment just on a testbed.

Right now it is laying out on a table with 2 120mm fans blowing over the PWM IC's.

    Current temps are-

    CPU 49C
    PWM IC 48C
    Chipset 39C

When i load up both cores, it starts to get a little warm, hits 55-57C, big typhoon holds its own though.

I am going to burn in for many more hours, then attempt to go for higher mhz. No point in doing screenshots because I aint even started yet. I am just really bummed out that I got such a weak core0. Hopefully nothing 10 hours of BurnK7 cant fix.

    Rest of the system:
Lanparty SLI-DR (EXPERT is being used on other rig atm)
GEIL ONE 512x2 BH memory (not bad, does 255@2-2-2-5 w/ 3.52v)
Enermax liberty 500WATT (seems to be holding its own, but i want more power!)

Its going well, I really hope to see a higher overclock soon. Just ordered a Scythe 1600RPM fan to replace my current big typhoon orange fan that spins at 1200. Hopefully the added CFM will help keep the PWM IC's cool. The biggest bonus to my DFI EXPERT is the much better PWM IC temps.

The amazing this is, it seemed prime stable at 2900mhz w/ stock vcore. I only prime tested for maybe 5 minutes, but still, wasnt bad. When I went to 3gighz, core0 instantly failed prime from 1.36 to 1.456. When I went up to 1.5vcore, core0 was 100% stable again. I really want to get it prime stable at 1.45 @ 3gighz.

Guys, it sounds like he doesnt want to say. The best guess is a 0550 UPMW or VPMW. Nothing else can really hit that high with any other CPU's off the shelf.

    Greenman at AT says:

Perhaps you shouldn't tell us the stepping, I'm sure you could milk several more days of attention out of this. Then you could share your secret with just your true friends and make them promis not to tell anyone else.
but I personally like s7's comment best!
