    50k Netburst done + more benches (955XE @ 6GHz+, single X1900XTX)

I invited Kinc and Incido for some benching with Intel's 955XE and ATI's X1900XTX. We also fixed some 30 litres or so of LN2 to make it a little more interesting.

    Spec:
    Intel 955XE - Mousepot + LN2 (-140C)
ATI Radeon X1900XTX - Natrium Single Stage (-45C)
Asus P5WD2 - vcore, vdimm, vdroop
    Corsair 5400UL
    OCZ 520W

The first day, we tested how much the graphics card could handle when it comes to cooling. Chefnr1 container and LN2 for the graphics card and a single stage unit for the CPU. The card managed -50C which was quite ideal for the single stage cooler for the next day.

(Click on the images to show bigger versions)

For day two we mounted the single stage compressor to the graphics card with temperatures at around -45C and a Mousepot to the CPU with LN2. We benchmark 3DMark2001 and 3DMark05 at 6300MHz and 3DMark03 at 6200MHz

You all know that the 955XE, as well as the X1900XTX, draws a lot of current and it definitely doesn't get any better when they are heavily overclocked. We measure a power input of over 700W into the OCZ 520W PSU during the Mother Nature test in 3DMark03.

    Results:

    3DMark2001: 50079

    3DMark03: 27111

    3DMark05: 15004

    3DMark06: 8194

Yeah there really is. We managed to run 918MHz of core at the sweet spot with LN2. The memory toped out at 927MHz at best though. We had to be conservative with the LN2, therefor we used a singel phase on the X1900XTX instead.

I see lot of you use single stage for GPU ocing, I use DI and think it's way better that phase change, plus 10° lower for sure. I got mine 890 on core, LN2 didn't bring me anything, i can get core higher, but couldn't get the whole bench thru.
But that 700W is just sick, I wonder what would be with CF system.
I had fx and two cards on my enermax, and didn't face problems with power shortage, but DC probably uses mush more.

lol how did OCZ handle that 700W? Maybe using 2 PSUs would give better stability and results since 700W sounds way too much for ocz.

    Anyway results are awesome

ocz, if it is 65% efficient, it would give 455W, that should handle.

Really nice scores, especially the car high. What intel needs now is a GOOD crossfire board. Anyone know if DFI has any plans to make an enthusiast socket 775 crossfire board?

maybe you should get a better psu or 2 psu together you might get higher clocks.

    Great benching

congrats guys! That's some nice stuff. Try dual PSU next time. Even though you're not maxing the OCZ you really need 2. It caused long term instability when it was put under a heavy load on my daily PC. Air out the back was hot and smelled like it was about to explode. If you bench again try dual PSU it may help with the clocks.

50k with Netburst is really a

Congratulations to Crotale, Kinc and Incido

What this score with WinXP or Win2k??

With proper tweaked OS the first place of 2001 is possible with a 955XE - who will be done the first one to do achieve that ? - Croate or Fugger ?
    The bets are open

if only someone would crossfire some X1900's and a 975 chipset, with a 6+ ghz 955XE... then it would start to get real interesting
2003 and 2005 scores would start dropping left and right.
been a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time since I seen intel on top.
kinda nice to have a change again.
