The cows have increased their RAC, from a few days ago. I wonder, if most of their members switched to Rosetta? We were able to overtake, them a few days ago, but now ?.. It seems, like they want number 1 bad...!

definition of a DPC stampede

the process of bringing their entire country over to one single project so they can say they beat everyone on a single day. does nothing in the long run, just gives them 1 maybe 2 extra days before they are overtaken.

they do this by buffering work
if you notice their top producers for hte past few days have had lower outputs than normal, meaning they held back some of their work, they can do this for as much as 10 days i believe in R@H, basically all it is is inflating the numbers for one day

if XS or Free-DC were to attempt this, we could probably do @ least 100-150k more than DPC does today, because we have a stronger daily output. let them continue to buffer, it didn't work in d2ol, and it sure isn't gonna work in rosetta

Exactly... there rac is so high because of the large dump they made. It's kind of like a 7 day average... so it's artificially inflated.

On a different note... we came this close "~" to overtaking free-dc in output yesterday. We had a very good day!

if you beat us regularly on daily production, that would be one thing, but saying you beat a team at less than half power and then having to pull a major dump to overtake.....(and by the way, most of your top producers in the days prior to that had lower outputs than normal, meaning you were all buffering up towards that day, so yesterday had some higher values than it shouldve actually been if you didnt buffer)

Its not time here at XS to start us asking everyone to run rosetta on their rigs. It might get annoying to some. On the other hand, if we were say #4 overall, then maybe we could start pushing. Its too bad Serlv, Plum Ugly and Redp5 are all crunching for XPC, that could be a nice 15k daily boost or so. Ohh well.

Exactly!! Just imagine if we only got 1/10th of the community to join up... that's over 2,400 members. And this being XtremeSystems... they will all likely have good to decent rigs! number one before the end of the month anyone?!?!?
