G.Skill 2GBHZ with DFI Expert mobo Testing

I know many people has some problem with DFI Expert mobo. i discussed with Oskar Wu many time about this also, but no idea....

finally yesterday night i spend few hrs to tweak around with my new expert mobo (the 2nd batch, not the 1st batch with "cut" around sound output area).

at first i cleared its bios and plug the 2GBHZ. it refuse to boot into bios. it freeze on DFI logo screen. then i took out one of the stick and only left one on the mobo. it boot into bios no problem. after i finished the bios seting i turn off computer and plug another one. it boots fine no problem. cleared bios and boot dual channel again... freeze. btw my bios is 1207

ok the bios Data level is set on 3(1~15) and 1(1~4), different CPU mobo might need different level. the way i tested out is using FSB310 DDR620 with 1GBFF 2.6v 32M. since expert board is hard to go over 310 this is the great way to find the best level for me. from 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-1.... to 8-4; many level i can not even boot into windows but for 3-1 i could do 32M to loop 8. that is why i think 3-1 is the best for me.

    Conclusion

expert mobo is different than ultra-D mobo

the timing for ultra-D is very hard to run twtr 1 and trtw 2. normally we use twtr 2 and trtw 3.
but on expert mobo, twtr 1 and trtw 2 is working fine... and if lower twtr 1 to 2, system becomes unstable and BSOD sometime the only thing to help system stable is lower trtw to 3.

also, singel channel for 1st boot after clear bios is needed. once bios been set, dual channel is ok. (at lease in my case)

finally! UCCC is cool for low voltage......

    also! this kit's SN# starts 06010510

For Ultra-D, what bios, tref, and dram drive/data strength do you recommend? thanks.

290MHz and only 2.4v is sweet! I remember using 2.5v with kit I have here, on Ultra-D and it worked great up to almost 290MHz. I wonder if it's Expert/HZ combo that work so great or maybe Ultra-D could also pull this off... But as far as I recall, Ultra-D doesn't have 2.4vdimm option...

    fine!
    i'm trying (without troubles) a pair of GBHz on my Expert mobo @250Mhz 1:1 3-4-4-8 @ 2.6v.
i'm running my system without hdds and readers, so i can test only with memtest86+!
now i hope to see how my memories work @2.4v!

EXCELLENT! our timings are identical up to 270, and I think you just solved my problem for 280-290!

Now if I could just leave work and go try them...

Did they pass 32M at 280 and 290? If you didnt try, could you do so and get back to us?

    Thanks again!

Can you PLEASE explain to me the logic and/or math behind using 3684 as the TREF value?

Hmmmm, this really blows. Got my 2 GB G.Skill today, and can't get them stable above 265
Have tried all the settings in this thread and other threads....
I can't believe I am THIS unlucky...first I get crappy Redlines, and now crappy gSkills too

All you so-called technicians posting you great memory overclock result on boards like these....are you just using handpicked modules after testing alot of similar type modules to get the best OC results so people like myself will go out and buy your company's products, but not get nowhere near the same results?
I know that hardware setups differ, etc.. but it's is really frustrating to invest in a second pair of 2X1gb modules and not have them perform nowhere near what other people are reporting...
Sorry for the tone, but it just pisses me off that I should be this unlucky
I was debating with myself wether to go for g.Skill or Crusial, and after reading good things about g.skill and crusial modules giving up after a few months I decided to go with g.skill....and had really hoped to be able to go to the same max as my cpu (280-285) with these modules...but no

I haven't tested each stick individually...yet...maybe one of them is worse than the other...?

Also, how come some values will work in A64Tweaker, but pc won't boot with the same values entered in BIOS?
