    Very Tiny Micro GPU cooler

I've had these parts sitting around for a while...and i ganked a APC Battery BackUPS from work today (actually 2 of them) that were no good...and i gutted them, and what ya know..instant nice little casing....Gonna get a custom front bent out for it and just rivot it up and viola i think it will be good to go...

Its a pretty tight fit, but it does fit..don't let the pics fool you. I'll be able to squeeze it in there i think w/o major issues. Besides i'm curious to see how this little compressor does on a GPU.

I have a GTX on the way, and its time for some more OC'ing or so....so i'd figure i'd build this unit up and see what happens...

I dunno if i'll build it or not, but hell figured i'd put some pics up and see what you guys think.

Compressor is Danfoss TT2.5f - Spec sheet attached below

Some Pics below, we all like pics..

I see a pretty bad bang in 1 of the U turns in ur condensor. You may want to repair that or reinforce it incase it starts to leak.

Cant wait to see how this turns out. What gas are you gonna use? R410 or R402? I read that to use R410 to its potential you need a very well tuned system.

It's fine. The picture makes it look worse than it is.

Cool, i have another one that is probally at least 70lbs heavy. It's a bigger one, but is the same size as a standard case....this little guy is only 7" wide or so.

hmm, I've got a few dead APC UPS's, unfortunatly I haven't come across a compressor and condenser small enough to fit into anything like that, they were smaller 300VA units I think *would have to go digging in the garage to find out* If my graphics card wasn't already peltier cooled, I would be persuaded to attempt this

Ya this small one like i said is a tight fit, but the APC cases are good and i hope maybe many of us can start using them if ya have a dead APC that's no good.

I looked into getting a few custom cases made by local company who specializes in laser cuting thin metals, but the cost for a one-off or limited quantity job was insane to say the least, I'll either end up finding a small dead appliance and using it's case, or jsut build my own out of L channel and riveted stainless or galvanized steel

what're you people doing with the guts of these APCs? I gutted one once and it was a goldmine of parts... everything needed for a beautiful high-current linear power supply.

Started messing around with some of the tubing orientation.

Man, its starting to get really tight, but still fits.

I will have no intention of ever mounting this from the bottom of a case. I'm going to make the suction/evap arm come out the front of the unit, next to a power switch and pressure gauge.

I have plenty of room in the back part of the case (on the bottom) for the wiring and etc..

    Wow that's seriously compact!

It's not a huge compressor, but I still think that at around the 100w heatload that it's likely going to see it'll give some surprisingly good temps.

Love the case, and I'm impressed that you're gettingi t to fit, even with that desuperheat coil.

All in all, a nice job so far

I'm looking forward to how it handles on a load

D'oh! I just looked at the drier with schrader valve and saw the very neat brasing. Forgot you could buy them like that

    Very neat so far anyway...
