Last but not least, a live demo of the upcoming 3DMark2006. This test is certainly longer than the current GT3 of 3DMark05 with much HDR effects in it. Even with a pair of 7800GTX in SLI, the average frame rate is a mere 11.2 fps.

FM speeds up the dev process everytime a graphics card comes closer to 15k stock in their most current 3dmark...the R580 and the G71 should be able to accomplish that feat on single card or at least be able to reach stock sli/crossfire scores on air...so it should be quite near...but I wouldn't expect it in q1 06.

eh, wait a minute. i just checked the techday-coverage and noticed that they don't say "a pair of 7800gtx", but "a pair of 7800gt"!

We've misunderstood, and thought we saw one of the machines running 3DMark 06. However, upon clarification, it's actually a game/demo that resembles that 3DMark version, and it's filled with various visual effects, including HDR bloom effects.

so I assume that any test that uses HDR will be omitted entirely on a system using a X800 series card or less.

From the interview, there will be additional tests that the x8xx series will not be able to run, but it will be able to run all tests **REQUIRED** to get a 3dmark.

Looking forward to the slideshow...you need the newest flash player for this though...
