Talking Super Pi: Opteron 144 CABYE 0536 GPMW vs FX-57 CABCE 0516 WPMW

Since dinos and a few folks are getting slower super pi times with opteron that other san diego cpus thought I'd start this thread with comparisons between my FX-57 and Opteron 144.

    FX-57 with 510-2FIX bios
    DFI NF UT SLI-DR
    510W PC Powercooling SLI

    Opteron 144 with 623-2BTA bios
    DFI NF UT SLI-DR
    650W Silverstone SLI

    exact same timings as FX-57

need to loosen Trc from 7 to 9 for 8M

need to loosen Trc from 7 to 9 and Twr from 2 to 3 for 32M run

So you can see there isn't so much of difference between Opteron and san diegos as seen by some folks.... maybe they just have some settings/OS issues or hdd issues causing slower 8-32M runs ?

    Update Oct 20, 2005
Swapped to 2x 512MB Patriot PC3200XBL TCCD memory, this clocked higher and tighter than my above Gskill PC4400LE (309-312mhz 2.5-4-3-6 vs 301mhz 2.5-4-3-6) on FX-57. So thought i'd tried this ram on Opteron 144. It does pretty well except Dynamic Idle Cycle counter needs disabling on Opteron 144, but FX-57 allowed me to keep it enabled. Disabled i lost some performance as seen below:

    Nice presentation EVA, solid testing...

What bios do you recommend for Ultra-D? I am running my Win 3500, TCC5 on 704-BTa, yellow slots. I'll have a 146 here shortly. Do you think 623 would perform better? Thx....

Will do, thank you. I have used all the above except for the 623-2BTA for the Winchester and settled on 704-2bta, yellow. I have always had sucecss using the -2 bioses, even though my CBBID is a complete dog. Anyway, thanks again...sorry for straying OT...

Well, I'll throw another cpu in the mix for comparison's sake. Here's an E6 4000+ @ 2.8G on air. (I know it's a x10 mult, but that's as low as I tested it)

possible that it's only an issue with the cabne's? or are people with cabye's and cabge's having the problem too?
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

dinos is having issues with same CABYE 0536 GPMW i have http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=1510 but i think it's due to his loose max preamble, TRCD, DC disabled and slower hdds
