    Inventor FTW!!

LOL look at the chrome, if you rotate the object you can see sky and a car (see the parking spot lines?) in the "chrome"

The base is quite thick, maybe a few dents and holes into the bottom. Maybe like a ring or so.

We want to make the container out of aluminium.

I redesigned the bottom of the container. Should be better now.
Do I gain much if I sandblast the internals for more surface area?

If thats going to be solid, remember some things are hard to mill. Otherwise looks really good. maybe want to make that middle peice hollow? that way it can get some liquid mass in there?

I love it Jan! This design is very good. Only hard part is getting the tooling to fit down there on a lathe. Thats really what keeps the solid designs limited to a certain extent..

Well what you say is true kingpin. But i spoke a cnc specialist that is going to build my units. I can get allmost everything in the base if its not smaller than 2mm. So i think its the cnc that makes the difference with solid container with huge surface to cool. If the cnc cant do work in the base you are limited by the cnc..

But man. you have designed a great unit jan. If it cools like it looks

I want to use a press to hold the container down. so it needs to be solid

ok.. ill give a hint. Be aware you have to make something in the mass like 1mm hole or otherwise you cant put in the arc because it can "move", if there is 1mm hole in the mass this cant happen

Looks good Jan, almost like the pot I've had in my minds eye for some time now. Only difference is it has the center riser a larger diameter, about to the next ring cut in your drawing
