Whatever driver works best for you, I think would be fairest. I dont think there are "hidden drivers" that only a select few have access to.

all drivers are fine for aq3

the drivers that work best for 3dmark dont always score better in aq3 as well, there are some driver reviews out there comparing different forceware versions, could be worth to check out those reviews

does aq3 also score best at the first run or does it score higher after the first run?

From what I have seen on AM3 you can run rerun and keep running without a real change.

One thing I have noted in AM3 with my 9800XT is that at a high enough speed, the score will actually lessen.

IDK why, but it also artifacts noticably less than other benchmarks...no clue why.

I think my 7800GTX also has this problem. I ran one at 2.4GHz 496/1420 and got 90k while I ran another at 2.65 525/1460 LOD +15 and only got 94k....something's up.

throttling? same thing happens to my 6800, it just suddenly starts slowing down, giving scores lower than stock...

IDK how AM3 can throttle a 9800XT though...w/e. My 7800GTX runs are weird, still playing with those.

Alright, those scores are as good as it'll get for now....not sure how I got 90k on the slower speeds though....turned down LOD to +3 on these settings and got 91k.

My GPU needs more volts too....even on aircooling. Artifacting at 530 MHz a lil too much and the card is still only warmish....

    first time with this benchmark...

    i get 80,250 with a winchester at 2570mhz, 512MB BH-5 @ 257mhz 2-2-2-11 and x800xt at 500/500 and 80,800 with the x800xt at 563/567....

that doesn't seem right to me... also when i get back into windows i notice that atitool now shows 500/500 again i had this bug with 3dmark 03 as well and it seemed to affect my score, any ideas anyone!? i'm stumped.

Def. need the vmods. Couldn't break 540 on cool water at 1.5v which is higher than stock.

Shineymod: Might be going too high on core I think and it is resetting itself try backing down and see what it does. Also make sure to check off vgpu recover I think that caused problems when I ran it w/ the x850xt.

yeah i have vpu recover turned off, i'll try with a lower core speed, thanks

EDIT: 550/550 no reset 83K+ if only i'd known that for '03 now to work out how to stop it resetting so that i can run with decent clocks...

Hmmmm, I think I figured out something very interesting for the 7800GTXs....let me test a lil more and maybe I'll have 100k in the bag when I get back.

With water and an FX 100k is cake. With aircooling and an X2...not so much...will update later with my findings, kinda busy.

I was wondering about the driver issue also. It states in your rules post that only FM approved drivers may be used for this competition.

    Rule#12
    Q. "Can we use any driver we want?"
    A. "sorry, no. please only use futuremark approved drivers."

So has that rule now been changed after the start of the Comp?

I think it was said somewhere that you can use whatever driver you want for AM3. I know it is FM approved drivers only for the 3D0X benches though.

Interesting findings here....I got 96538 with my 4400+ @ 275x10 and my 7800GTX at 525/1450 (highest I can run with zero artifacts....seems to help in AM3) yet I get 913xx at 460/1300, so AM3 definitely seems to be much more CPU intensive (where my X2 is gonna stuggle). A 15%/11% graphics OC shouldn't yield only a 5% increase in score, should it? It also seems that AM3 is much more CPU OC sensitive than 01 is...I can run 01 at 2830 but my best score in AM3 is at 2750 (I can run it at 2810ish, but it gets a lower score).

I scaled my GPU and MEM speed up slowly and it's definitely the highest score I get with my stock cooling. Any faster or slower and I get a lower score...

Amazing gpu clocks Harleybro. Is that still just chilled water? And what kind of volts are ya pushing through there?
