    7800GTX watercooling GPU + MEM ?

Are there already watercoolblocks like the Danger Den NV-68 for the GF6800 for the GF7800 GTX or should the DD block also fit on the 7800GTX ? I really want to know this cause that would make my life a lot more easy

BTW I couldn't find any of them
    Current Spec's:
    Athlon X2 4800+
DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert
    G.Skill PC4400
    Leadtek 7800GTX

unless you already have the NV48 block.. dont bother with those blocks that cover both ram and GPU.. they're not that great and i've heard about a lot of mounting issues (i.e. maintaining contact with core and ALL ram chips

air cooling should be sufficient for the memory, especially if you've got good case airflow

There is a slight difference between the memory height between the 6800 & 7800, so the block isn't recommended. DangerDen is making a 7800 version, not out yet.

I'd still go with a Maze 4 and RAM heatsinks though.

Yes as the other 2 said, those full cover blocks are far to restrictive for what you get. The video ram doesnt even benefit that much from water cooling. Some nice ramsinks and a fan will be more than sufficient for cooling your ram and for the core i would go for a Maze 4.

Just the reason I've chosen the Maze4, and it's cheaper than the gpu+mem block anyway

Still no ramsinks attached, the mem doesn't get that hot anyway

Friend: Do you have a spare PSU lying around?
    Me: No why?
Friend: My PSU just blew up, I think the second 8800GTX might have been too much for it to handle
Me: what PSU was that again?
    Friend: Antec 480w
    Me:........

So it's true, the sink for the core and mem is all one piece now? Bah bye bye warranty. Where would I find a bunch of craptastic white foam tape to put between my mem and the sink if I need to send it back? :p

Sorry, I'm not a fan of RMAing things I broke, but I use my own morals. If I OC something 5MHz and it explodes I have an inkling I didnt do it. Yall wouldnt want an AMD RMA voided because you didnt use shin etsu. I certainly hate when a warranty is void from basically improving cooling. Know what I mean?

bah sorry for the rant. My main concern is I did have a 6800GT legitimately die. I had put a waterblock on it on two separate occasions and it all went fine. i had different rig plans and put its stock thing back on. The temps were 10C better than they used to be with stock, because I seem to have the magic touch the seemingly half blind taiwanese sweatshop laborer doesnt have. 3 months on stock air later, dead. Was I a twit to RMA? I'm sleeping well at night. I think this go around, I'd be screwed.

texuspete00: no matter how innocent you may be XS does not tollerate any discussion of circumventing manufacturer's RMA policies.

this is just an FYI, but any further posts regarding this willl be removed.

+5 for not editting. XS rules all. Think I will wait a few months to make sure this GTX is straight before I take the tools to it. Barely used my swifty mcw50 with nv40 mounting kit.
