I lost my OC with the 702-2 bios...

Don't know what happened but I was running smoothly at 275x10 @ 1.55v before with the 623-2 bios & then tried the 702-2 & that was it... No more P95 stable...

Tried goind back to 623-2 but again my OC was lost... Will see if this bios does the trick when I get home 2nite...
    Cheers,
    Minh

You'd think that it'd run okay at 196MHz @ 3.3v okay but that wasn't the case...

I seem to be losing my OC on the RAM a lot since the 510 bioses... Was never able to get it back to 240MHz @ 3.3v anymore...

Be giving this bios a shot within the next few minutes...

seems 704-2 is better than 702-2 for 1GB OCZ PC3500 Plat LE BH-5

    1. it likes interleave enabled
    2. but needed to use drive and drive data strength of 8/1 instead of 3/1 with 702-2

I noticed that with these latest beta's I lose my 150MHz divider option...

Haven't tried it any higher than 10x265 @ 1.55v - 166MHz Divider which is doing fine so far...

Hopefully it won't crash on me after 7hrs of P95... Well not exactly crash but fail P95...

Need to kick missus off the main rig to keep testing this new bios out... Luckily I can just use 140MHz divider & then set it to 150MHz divider using A64Tweaker...

I noticed too that I can run higher with CPC Enabled with this bios too.. Whereas 275 with 150 divider netted my 2.75GHz & 196MHz on the RAM, 265GHz & 166 divider nets me 212MHz with my RAM (using my head as a calculator as my missus has kecked me off my rig for her DARN SIMS 2 UNI...

    Off Topic:
Need to get a 2nd PCI-E mobo to upgrade my 2nd rig to...

Tempted to just get an Ultra-D to bide my time till XFire comes out..

Checking with distributors here for whenabouts of XFire X850XT release & they haven't got a clue...

    Cheers,
    Minnyboy

704 is def. a lil bit more stable then previous bios revisions. no gains for me yet. but it is a lil bit smoother and a lil bit more forgiving in certain areas.

    testing 704-2.

Perhaps the most hair raising BIOS flash I've ever done. Followed the correct method etc, flashed from a 40MB FAT partition (specifically designated for BIOS flashing) of my HDU as normal. Hit 'F1' to reset and nothing except a flashing HDU light. Hard powered off. Turned off completely, powered up - nothing. CMOS reset and wahey! it works! Suffice it to say I nearly pooed myself even though I'm a very experienced flasher (ooo err, not that ). Everything ready to recieve my Toledo next week (I hope) and now a working ps/2 keyboard.

If I were you, I would do the flash again. The bios file could be corrupted. Load optimized settings before flashing. Use a floppy disk.

I flashed to 702-2 yesterday and it didnt seem to change anything. But I did have some problems with some of the dividers disapearing. What I had to do was load optimized defaults and then load my saved settings. But overall 702-2 works great. I am going to try 704-2 right now.

edit: the flash went good but I still dont see a change. Maybe a little more tweaking but I dont know what else I can change on my ram timings.

its for dual core cpus which can potentially increase performance at the risk of sacrificing stability. This is a fairly new option which hasn't been looked into too much but if you aren't using dual core disable it.

Isn't the bandwidth in that memtest shot a little low? With 510-2 and Memtest 1.55 I get 3385MB/s @ 260MHz 2-2-2-5. Maybe it's different with the new version and I'm just paranoid...

I just remembered that I have a cup of coffee cooling in the freezer. It's probably solid by now.

Well I'm still having Keyboard and mouse PS/2 issues. It does work more often than not now. Both my mouse and keyboard are PS/2. Here is what happens:

Occasionally, at the WinXP logon screen, the mouse will work. If it does work, but the keyboard isn't working [I know when the keyboard isn't working and when it is by looking at the 'num lock' light which remains lit if it isn't going to work which turns off during the XP loading splash screen if it is going to work), then the moment I press any key, the mouse just dies. So basically, if the keyboard is frozen and the mouse is not, the moment I touch a key, the mouse stops! Nice.

I will try the keyboard as PS/2 and the mouse as USB and see how that goes. It's annoying but I need this BIOS for my Toledo. These PS/2 problems only started from 509-x onwards. I have never experienced any problems with the 414-x's or any previous BIOS.

EDIT: Tried it with USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard and still no luck. Keyboard froze.
