Tune up version of DFI NF4 510 bios

just chat with Oskar and he gave me this:
After bios update, it will show as 623

    http://oskarwu.myweb.hinet.net/dfi/b...s/510-1FIX.zip
    http://oskarwu.myweb.hinet.net/dfi/b...s/510-2FIX.zip
    http://oskarwu.myweb.hinet.net/dfi/b...s/510-3FIX.zip
if you feel 510 bios are better than other versions , these 3 bios are based on the 510 and fixed the following:

add dram response time fastest and fixed the program vdimm after ac off.

any problem please reply here, about the 618, he will have some fix as well. stay tune.

I will try this tonight after work, as the 618 (-2 & -3) were not working too well with my setup, were as 510-2 & -3 were really good.

Have you had time to test them yet OPB?

I remember someone saying the 618 series of BIOS had issues with X2 compared to the 510 series. Any word on that?
Still using the ADA4400DAA6CD CCBWE 0517MPMW

Remind me what each number says (1, 2 or 3).
If I remember correctly 1 is general ram 2 is UTT and 3 is TCCD. Am I right?

    Thanks,
    Suma.

"After bios update, it will show as 623" so I think it's the same WWM has posted.

According to the last BIOS release (618) DFI said:

    -1 is for BH-5/UTT
    -2 is for general
    -3 is for TCCD

Well Ive just flashed to the -2 version, from 618-2, and my 11x multi now works, before I had to do 371x7 to get 2.6GHz at 1.45 volts (actual, BIOS was set to 1.5), now 236x11 works at the same voltage, before it wouldnt even POST!

    THX NICKE^ !!!

Found this on NICKE^'s hp: "All bioses from 5.09 and later are optimized like this, TCC* = Orange slots and BH-5,UTT = Yellow slots"

Never heard about - still on the orange ones with my BH-5.

    Anyone with some further informations?

That is correct from a msnm conversation with Oskar.

Ok a couple of other points you might want to know and consider.

3/10 ram table limits you to 'two' stick dual channel to Orange slots still.

Since the 3/16/05 bios sticks could go into Yellow or Orange slots and NOT have warning to place sticks in Orange slots. This means bios with ram tables 3/16 and 3/26 can have two stick dual channel in either Yellow or Orange slots.

Now knowing that you should be able to take advantage of this feature for "however much" you find it worth.
Yellow slots 1 and 3 are supposed better suited for HI voltage and therefore UTT/BH-5 types of memory.
Orange slots 2 and 4 are supposed better suited for normal lower voltages and therefore TCCD/TCCC/TCC5 types of memory.

Angry_Games said over at dfi-street that all high voltage (bh-5 + utt) should be in yellow slots. Orange for lower voltage stuff.

He said this when they advised everyone not to use the 4v jumper setting IIRC.

*bah I cant see it on forum, but I remember one of admin saying it over there...*

    Hope this helps!

Yellows with my Mushkin Redline XP4000's do nothing but lock up at updating DMI screen during boot. Orange works like a champ for me

I wish to heck someone could get this straight once and for all and quit switching it around lol. I mean seriously, could someone who actually knows tell us which version is optimized for what?

I thought it was like this:

    -1 is for general
    -2 is for BH-5/CH-5/UTT
    -3 is for TCCD

I know OCZ reps seem to always recommend -3 for TCCD based modules but AG over at DFI-Street recommends -2 for TCCD modules cause he says it works best for him. I have BH-5 myself and i dont know which one would be best so i just been using the -2 version BIOS's but if their switching it around with the new 618's then i'm clueless.

What BIOS would you recommend Onepagebook? I have a 3200+ Venice and the new G.Skill 1GBGH UTT-BH.

Mushkin recommended 510-2 and that's what they have been using to test the Redline on, therefore I'm going to stick with -2 version for UTT

Taken from #16: "Since the 3/16/05 bios sticks could go into Yellow or Orange slots and NOT have warning to place sticks in Orange slots. This means bios with ram tables 3/16 and 3/26 can have two stick dual channel in either Yellow or Orange slots."

Maybe You're on the wrong BIOS or ramtable ???
